Dear Group - we had the same problem and we have found the solution!!!!! You need the orange crescent shaped tool in order to remove the botton portion of the juicer easily. The tool inserts into the 2 opposing holes on the blade and turns counter clockwise - and like magic, the blade loosens and comes off. If you don't have the tool, you will need to use 2 screwdrivers and turn them simultanously counterclockwise. That will be the tricky part. Be careful not to insert the screwdrivers too deep, or you will get them caught in the stuff lower down. Here are the numbers to call to order the tool - 800 532-6597 or 973 287-5157.

Found a manual for the PowerJuicer Elite, which is very similar to the model CL -003AP referenced here.
Just go to Yahoo.com and type in "Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Manual". You will see several hits that have PDF versions you can download.
