My Coby Mp3 player MP610-4G has to be recharged after 4-5 hours of use. Is this normal? Also is there another way to charge the battery other than through the computer?

My battery for my mp3 won't last long

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

My Coby 4GB Touchscreen Video MP3 Player (MP828) is not holding charge for a long time ... what should i do ?

Rechargeable mobile devices can lose their ability to hold charge if they aren't charged properly. The best way to charge your device is to let the battery die all the way before recharging it. Overtime, when you repeatedly recharge your batter without doing so, it loses it's function. In addition, try keeping your brightness on low.

Battery problem

This problem is due to a bad battery. All rechargeable battery have a charging limit of upto 1000-3000 charges, after that it will loose its ability to get charged, so you will have to replace the battery.

How do I recharge Coby MP3 player? I plugged into USB port for over an hour but it stopped playing after about 20 minutes. Do I need to replace the battery or charge it longer or both? Thanks. Claudia

Coby MPC7085 requires a 12 hours charge when used for the first time.
Always use a direct connection to the computer when charging with the USB cable: a hub or cardreader should be self-powered.

Unit will not turn on

Your battery is recharged when connected to your computer. Turn the player off and connect it to your computer via the USB cord. The computer must be turned on. Initial charge should be for 10 hours with subsequent charges 3 to 4 hours for a full charge. A quick charge of 1-1/2 hours will give you a 70 percent charge. A fully charged battery will last up to 15 hours under normal use.

Coby mp-c 7095

make sure its charge for at least 3-4 hours, if that doesnt work, or it doesnt hold a charge, battery is bad, which means defective unit.
