SOURCE: does machine have a filter

The filter is to be found at the rear of the washer.
Remove lower rear panel of washer, remove large black hose fastened to bottom of tub.
Watch out for water running out.
Remove plastic`filter inside hose and clean.
Refit filter and hose.
Dirty washing can somtimes be attributed to washing at too low a temperature, so make sure you have selected right temp for washing.
Please leave a fixya rating for my solution.Thanks.

SOURCE: hotpoint aquarius wf440 : my washing 'smells'

Try doing a couple of really hot washes without any clothes in the machine on the second one add a good dose of washing soda to the drum before you fill the machine up

Cut down on load and use some old fashioned soap powder which has bleach and other stuff in it to destroy the bacteria which is in the fats left behind in the machine because of Cool washing

SOURCE: hotpoint aquarius 1200 wont empty and I cannot

HI. the filter is mounted on the drain pump housing. You will need to disassemble the unit to access the filter. Here are some other areas i would check, also.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

NOTE-If the hoses filter, and pump check out ok, this will confirm that there is a serious issue within the actual control sector(Timer module or control board). It should be replaced i this case.

more than likely the rear bearing has gone bad and when a load is applied the difference in weight distribution causes the knocking.

Where do I find the filter on my Hotpoint Aquarius WM22? Or does it not have one?

Both the Hotpoint WD63 (wash dryer) and the Hotpoint WM22 (washing machine) have a drain filter in the sump hose at the bottom of the tank.

This filter is a last line protection for the pump and is not designed to be cleaned on regular intervals by the user.
