Sharp LCD TV starts with colored stripes, then normal pictures.
Have a Sharp 32" LCD TV (11/2 years old), when first turned on, it shows multiple color stripes with sound. Once it was left on for 10-20 minutes, the picture comes on and stays on. Help!!

Hi, Try moving the TV around so that the bars disappear. It could be you have it too close to something thats affecting the screen. You might even move it to a different room. Good luck.
Either you have a problem with your aerial or a hardware problem with the internal TV tuner, make sure any other TV's in the house don't have the same problem.
You can try a chip-set reset, unplug power and hold down the on button for 30 seconds (time it to be sure).
The manual for this TV is not readily available so I can't tell you if there is a reset option in the On Screen Display, you'll have to press menu and have a look through, but if there is use it and see if it helps.
Failing that it's sometimes possible to fix this kind of issue by unplugging power, taking the casing off the TV with a screwdriver and re-seating any internal cables you can find, but as I stated info on this TV is not readily available so can't tell you for sure.
If non of this helps it will likely cost you more to get it repaired than to replace it.
Hope this helps but message back if you need any more info.
the lcd tv hhave somethig like a bulb and after a period of use that bulb must be changed. take the tv on service. the service man wil see what is the problem most accurate.
Contact Sharp to locate the nearest authorized Sharp servicer. Sharp Aquos servicers have to give Aquos TV top priority. Sharp provides very good and fast serice on these sets.
With no video and the the colored stripes, it sounds like the LVDS cable needs to be reconnected to the LCD control board or the control board itself is bad. If the unit is only 3-4 months old, it should be covered by warranty
Good Day, poandflo; After removing the power from TV remove the back of the TV (bottom only): Repair: Re-insert PDM connector on both Main Digital module and Drive PWB.
Good Luck, big IRISH. ps. remove cables one at a time and plug back in ensuring that they are seat properly.
Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.
