Changing the language from Control panel wont work at all.
There is a solution for this, I've tried on my EeePC.
For this u'll need the following:
1. A computer with CD-ROM
2. OEM Disk or Windows XP disk
Afterwards do the following:
1. Put ur Windows XP disk on the CD-ROM of another computer.
2. Copy the disk content from MyComputer.
3. Paste it down in ur PENDRIVE.
4. Put that Pendrive on ur EeePC.
5. After get into the Chinese edition Windows, copy the folder from
pendrive that u've copied down before.
6. Paste it into "D:" drive in MyComputer.
7. Get into the folder and follow the procedure.
8. Dont forget to select ENGLISH language when it asks for (Default is
also English).
9. Wait for just 23 minutes.
10. You will have your EeePC with English edition of Windows XP.
Advantages of this Procedure is u dont need to loss ur workings and
savings in Chinese edition XP.
G o to start menu then open regional and language option there.
Then sleect your language and region .
ASUS have been gradually transitioning to chiclet-style keyboards on their Eee PC netbooks, with the latest model to get the new style being the Eee PC 1000HA. If you're an existing owner looking longingly at the new layout, meanwhile, and specifically have an ASUS Eee PC 1000H, you can fudge your own update with the keyboard from the Eee PC 1000HE.
ASUS Eee PC 1000H DIY 1000HE chiclet keyboard upgrade
It's not just an aesthetic upgrade, either. ASUS bizarrely played around with the keyboard layout on the 1000H, one of the most obvious changes being the right-hand shift key getting nudged across by the up arrow. The 1000HE keyboard, however, has a more standard layout.
There's a little modification required before the keyboard panel slots in - basically snipping off a few metal tabs - but it looks relatively easy from EeeUser.com forum member Barovelli's photos (some of which are reproduced here). Not all users are reporting 100-percent key success, however, so don't throw away your old 'board.
The replacement 1000HE keyboard is priced at $15 through ASUS; however, it's currently listed as out of stock.
