How old and have your ran vinegar water mixture to clean teh coffee maker? I woould run 1 part vinegar to one part water to clean coffee makers 2 -3 times a year. Here's a vinegar cleaning link.

We left vinegar in the coffeemaker overnight. Seems to have done the trick - water is heating up now after 20 or so minutes instead of several hours.

Once a Bunn has been plugged in and the heater has warmed up, about 8 mins on new models, 10 to 15 mins on older models, there is NO delay needed between brew cycles. The VPR can produce 8.5 gallons of coffee per hour. You can easily make 4 to 5 pots back to back with no significant brewing temperature loss. Matter of fact I just finished making my 5th awhile ago.

Remember, no1bigredd, that Before you plug in your pot the water tank must be full, or you run the risk of damaging your heater coils and/or thermostat. The proceedure is outlined in your owners manual. If you have lost your manual, here is a quick refresher course for you.

1. With the coffee pot unplugged, fill your resevoir/tank until water begins pouring out of your sprayhead and brew basket.
2. Wait for the water to finish dripping then plug in your Bunn.
3. Let your Bunn warm up for at least 8 minutes.
4. Run a test cycle with clean water, remembering to use the water pitcher provided for this purpose, while leaving your empty pot on the burner beneath the brew basket.
5. If your cycle completed, and your coffee pot is filled to the desired level you are ready to make coffee.

Remember that these Bunn models have no water filter installed, so, the cleaner the water the better tasting the coffee.

If, however, your temperature is still too low during your brew cycle, you can remove your top cover and adjust your temperature setting on the thermostat directly below the hot plate.

If your temperature still remains too low to properly brew you will probably need a new heater coil. Even a heavily scaled heater coil will heat your water properly, but this same scale can also crack and abrade your coil as well as your thermostat bulb.

You also have a heat switch located on the top of your heater tank, which is designed to open the circuit if your heater coil becomes too hot. This little button can corrode and lose connection over time, and should be cleaned if you see signs of rust, decay or green dust on the contacts.
