SOURCE: Feed Dog on Brother 270d stuck in up position

I finally figured this out. The feed dog switch in the back was not hitting anything when I moved it back and forth. There is a screw on the underside of the machine that I tightened. It seemed to do the trick. Thanks.

SOURCE: Brother Super Galaxie 2100 - Feed dogs will not lift

Remove needleplate and clean out the built up lint between the teeth of the feeddogs.
When moveng from Feed Down to Up, rotate handwheel one revolution to re-engage.
If neither is a problem and your manual is of no assistance, take it to a service centre to check it out and quote.

SOURCE: my feed dogs will not come up into position

Some machines have to take a stitch for the mechanism to "pop" back into place, I don't really know if your brother is like that but try to sew with it and see if they click back into place.

SOURCE: I lost the Buttonhole fine-adjustment screw for

I just wanted to share my situation with you. I had the same problem. When I tried to use my Buttonhole fine-adjustment screw, it broke up and fell inside the machine. My husband opened the machine to get the broken parts out (two of them: first one - white-colored plastic broken part of the adjustment screw and a metal, half-moon shaped washer).

I called 1-877-276-8437 (BROTHER), and the person who checked the list of replacement parts said to me that this particular screw was not in the list. So that person gave me the number of the closest service center where I called.

The service person told me that it was no cost to see what was the problem, but to determine how much the solution would cost he needed to see the machine. I asked about the minimal cost of a service; it was $89+ the cost of the parts. It means the minimal cost of the repair (without the price of the replacement part) goes 14 dollars beyond the price of a new machine, which in Amazon.com today 10/2011 is $75 for the same model LS-2125(i).

My solution was to get out the broken part for which my husband unscrewed for me the front plastic shell and took out the two little broken parts. During this procedure, he realized I could use a narrow scissors to make the remaining part of the Buttonhole fine-adjustment screw turn around. This way I can still use my machine with no need of buying a new one.

I have a brother ls 2020 and it will not feed fabric through. I am thinking my feed dogs are messed up but i don't see anything about lowering or raising them. Will I have to take it apart?

According to the manual, your machine does not have the capability to drop/raise the feed dogs. Instead, there is a cover plate that is installed over the feed dogs when performing darning or free motion quilting.

Check that your stitch length is set high enough to actually move the fabric. Some machines also have a presser foot pressure adjustment that will increase or decrease the amount of pressure the presser foot applies to the fabric and the feed dogs. If your machine has this adjustment, it may help to increase the pressure so the fabric will move better. Another thing to check is whether you are using the correct presser foot that will actually rest on the feed dogs.

Reading the hints on pages 28 and 29 may be helpful.

User Guide Manuals LS 2020 Others Brother

Another possibility is that the feed dog points have been worn off. When the points are worn, they no longer grip the fabric like when new. When stitching, be sure to never run the machine with the presser foot setting directly on the feed dogs, it without fabric.

How do I raise the feed dogs in a Brother LS2125 sewing machine as they seem to be lowered?

Perhaps you will find the answer here:

LS 2125 2125i 2129 United States Brother Solutions Center

FWIW, the manual indicates that your feed dogs do not lower. Instead, you are provided with an accessory that covers the feed dogs when you wish to use the machine without feed dogs.

How can i do free motikn quilting with my machine

On page 35 of your manual (see link below), there are instructions for darning. It looks like your machine needs to have the darning plate installed over the feed dogs before you can perform darning or free motion quilting. If you do not have the darning plate, then you will need to get one.

Thread jam bent needle feeddogs went to down postion and i can't get them to come up

Ok, your going to need to get a new needle. If you can, snip the thread jam to get it out. If the needle is stuck, trying loosening the screw(or whatever) holding it in. This is typically a tension problem I find, but as for feed dogs, did you forget to put the presser foot down? Also check the settings on your machine, mine has a switch to not use feed dogs.

Can you drop the feed dogs on a rl425 brother sewing machine

The Brother RL-425 does not have a drop-down feed dog system. Instead, you need to put the darning plate over the needle plate. This covers the feed dogs. The plate is part of the original accessories supplied with the sewing machine. Some shops call this the feed dog cover in the parts catalog. If you need to replace the cover, here is one source: https://www.brothermachines.com/sewing/1581/Feed_Dog_Cover .

Positioning the darning plate is shown on several pages of the user manual. See the sections on sewing a button and darning. The manual is available here: http://support.brother.com/g/b/manuallist.aspx?c=eu_ot&lang=en&prod=hf_rl425euk&flang=English&type3=626&type2=69 . http://download.brother.com/welcome/doch000843/rl425ug01en.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How to drop the feet on a brother ls2125 sewing machine

Not sure what you mean.

If you are referring to the feed dogs - they do not drop or disengage.
Instead, there is a cover that is used - part # XA3442-121

If you do not have a manual, you can download (free) at the Brother website.

Feed dogs are down

You might have the machine on a setting that does not use the feed dog. Check your stitch setting and see if that helps.
