SOURCE: red light on power button flashes, but no picture....blank screen

I would suspect a problem in either the backlight assembly, or the power supply that drives it. If it's the power supply, the part may be over $100.

SOURCE: Samsung LTN1765 has blinking green power indicator, but no picture or sound

Try replacing C51, a 10 microfarad 16v. surface mount electrolytic. It's near IC23 on the upper center of the board.
This part had high ESR on a couple of sets I serviced which
kept the power supply from starting.

SOURCE: Samsung TV won't turn on- trying to fix it. A challenging problem

I had the same problem. I live in NJ and called the local authorized "service provide" listed on the Samsung website. What a joke. Quoted $350 just to show up, never showed up. So I opened my own TV. Took off the plastic back (10 screws) took off the large metal RF shield (12-14 screws) and noticed a blown component. The markings on the component were KL15L and it is apparently an NTC Thermistor. Obviously it got fried and not knowing if there was other damage I decided to set out to replace the entire Power PCB Board Assembly and not the component. There were two part numbers on the assembled board (BN97-00457E & BN94-00622E). After searching online I also found a suitable replacement number for these (BN96-04896A). I found two places who claimed to have the part or have it on order (shopjimmy.com and vancebaldwin.com). After placing orders with both and having neither come through, I broadened my search and found out that the LNR409D was basically the same model as my LNR408D so I looked for its Power PCB Board Assembly part number which turned out to be BN41-00521B. Google search for that part number showed the item available on ebay. I bought it a week ago (ebay 260311519904) for $144 plus $12 shipping. I removed the bad board an hour ago (6 screws about 7 connectors) installed the new one, plugged in the connectors, replaced the covers, plugged in the TV... AND IT WORKS!
Suggestion: If your TV is out of warranty then open it up (what have you got to lose) and see if the problem is obvious and maybe something you can fix (replace) yourself. The parts, spare boards, etc. are out there if you look.

SOURCE: samsung lcd tv ltm1755b won't turn on (power light stays red)

Problem: Samsung LTM1755B with only a blinking yellow LED when you try to turn it on.

Solution: I just had one of these come in. I opened it up, and found the U501 capacitor a little suspicious looking, in that it had a deformed top. It was a 470uF 16V electrolytic 105degC 10mm x 12mm. I replaced it with a very good quality 1000uF 16V electrolytic 105degC 10mm x 16mm Nichicon UHN1C102MPD. After that repair, when I tried to turn it on, the LED was yellow for a second, then green, then I got a picture, and it appeared to work great. I then asked the owner a week later how it was working, and they said it was working just like new!

LG 50PQ30-UA turns on then off. Bad power supply. No bad caps nor blown fuses. Would you know of a repair kit or can you advise me on what to check on the power supply board. Thank You very much

The big question is is the PS board actually bad?...check the PSON voltage for a change when you push the power on if it changes then it most likely is a bad power board if it doesn't its the main board...good luck!!

Why my TV will not turn on?

Check the fuse first. Then verify if the different supply voltages are present using a voltmeter. Your board can be repaired or replaced from here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

What can I check to determine if my TV's Power Supply is bad?

Iv the voltages are low, pull the power line from each of the other boards to see which one is dragging the voltages down. If none ovf the voltages return to the correct value, then the power supply board is gone. You can get all the repair parts you need from here:

This is exactly why I tell people that when your set isn't working, you have to have it properly diagnosed. Chances are you have a defective main board. The power indication is an indication that you have standby power. However, the power indicator is controlled by the main board. So it is likely that your power supply is fine but you have an issue with your main board. It is not likely that your replacement power supply is defective as well, but anything is possible. You will need to have the power supply tested. If you are handy with a multimeter, I can help you with that.

Hi, My TV has been turning off by itself and

Good day!!!!

If your TV turn ON/OFF itself without sounds..The possible problems are voltage drop on power supply,overheat/overload,loose/cold solder of power supply or bad T-con board..

If you already inspected all capacitors on the power supply and all looks fine but it doesn't mean that your power supply board works fine because sometimes bad capacitors not look like bulged or looks fine visually but the value change its either lower/higher capacitance value. In that case you need to use capacitance meter to find bad caps..But before we do that,I have a procedure to minimize/eliminate troubleshooting. In this procedure you need a multimeter tester to perform voltage data check..

In this procedure we can determine where the fault came from..

This are the steps:
  1. Open the back cover.
  2. Look at the power supply board (it is usually connected directly to power cord).
1_18_2012_4_37_54_am.jpg
3. Find the 3 long connectors near the aluminum heat sink. Those connectors having voltage marks on each pins so you can easily determine where did you get the voltage..

4. Point the black test probe to GND (ground) and the other probe (red) to 5vdc,12vdc/15vdc,24vdc..Let me know if you find any voltage drop or voltage lost..

5. If all voltages are works fine..The possible problem is on T-con/logic board or main board..But in that case the common problems is on T-con board I found it online $34..

Hope it helps..Just keep on touch to fix your TV and works fine again..

Chester Pendilton.

My tv turn off by itself all time, sometimes Its just turning on when it turn off, sometimes happens after 10 minutes

Hmmmmm.......My ratings are slipping so this will require a serious answer! The solution I will give you will be of most accuracy. Your power supply startup resistors are are bad. These are located on the inverter board. Replace the inverter board or if you are up to it replace R603,604, and 605 with 390K quarter watt resistors. If the values are different or the same as mentioned, use the values I just told you! If they look fine or test fine...replace them with the value just mentioned!!!!!! Anyway!!!!!! Take this info to a TV tech and show him your answer. Thanks for asking me!

10 red blinking lights on my Panasonic Plasma TV, will pause for few seconds, then blinks again. TV will not power on.

This is a power supply issue - found a company that has used power supplies, they sell them for $60.00. We recommend a professional install the board because the voltage needs to be adjusted after the install or you could damage something else. The high voltage in the set can KILL you soe be very careful. The web address for the PS board is plasmafix.com.

Tv shutting off

How many times per second does the POWER led blink? (dont worry about the OPC).

1x per second (constant, steady blink) = bad inverter/lamps
2x per second = bad power supply
3x per second = bad main board

You can buy the parts online and fix if yourself!!
