    Hi,



    What is MFP? We use to be able to place our papers on top and copy but all of a sudden it does not accept them and tells us to fit page on flatbed only. What does this mean?

    Can you access MFP and check if you forcing flatscan to be used in copy?

  • Clear the jammed media from ADF (HP LaserJet 3050, 3050z).
  1. Open the ADF cover plate. when trying to copy papers do not feed but if you - c01075161.gif
  2. Remove any jammed media with care.Take out the page gently. NOTE: Take care not to tear the pwhen trying to copy papers do not feed but if you - c01075162.gifrc="/uploads/images/c01075162.gif" alt="c01075162.gif" class="h_mi" />
  3. Close the ADF cover plate.
  • Clear the jammed media from ADF (HP LaserJet 3390, 3392, 3052 and 3055).
  1. Open the ADF cover plate. NOTE: Checwhen trying to copy papers do not feed but if you - c01075163.gif packaging straps inside the ADF are removed. c01075163.gif
  2. Unload the jam clearance component.Lift the two handles with both hawhen trying to copy papers do not feed but if you - c01075164.gif component clutch is released.Rotate and lift the jam clearance component, and then put it aside. c01075164.gif
  3. Lift the green handle, and rotate the paper piwhen trying to copy papers do not feed but if you - c01075166.gif is opened. c01075165.gif

  6. When the media are stopped, pull the media out gently along the shown direction. c01075168.gif

  8. Pull down the green handle. c01075170.gif
  9. Insert the jam clearance component to reinstall it.Press the two reeds until the component is properly engaged.Install the clearance component correctly. Otherwise, paper jams will continue to occur. c01075171.gif

Hi, When you had the doucment feed jam were you able to clean or remove any paper that might be blocking the paper to be scanned? It sounds like there is paper still in the document feeder , I would open the DF and check very closely to make sure no paper is in the way!Good Luck!

Horizontal line on printed page
When you use the flatbed the copy is perfect because the ccd sensor is under the glass cover and obviously is free form dust/ dirt.
On the other hand if you use the feeder the ccd sensor is located in between the roller assembly (not sure exactly for this model).
This means that the page is scanned by the ccd in the feeder, any dirt on the ccd will appear as a black line. I assume that you are feeding papers from the side and not from the top that is why you get a horizontal line.

A quick test to see if the ccd sensor is dirty is to feed the paper from the top side to the feeder. If you get a vertical line it is a proof that your ccd sensor needs to be cleaned.
The worst case is that the sensor in the feeder assembly has a tiny spot that is damaged and it is causing the black line.
So , first try the test, then open the feeder assembly, locate the ccd and clean it. Hope that this helps.

It could have something to do with the automatic document feeder. There could be something in there that is blocking the paper from feeding in there correctly. It could be the feed tires or the belt as well in the document feeder.

It should be looked at by a technician in your area in case there are some parts that need to be replaced.

Our problem is not solved. It was suggested the feeder needed cleaning or wasn't working. The feeder works as we make copies of documents. If one is scanning can you feed the document or can you only scan one page at a time by placing it on the window?

Will not copy
If the paper isn't feeding in the ADF (automatic document feeder - upper paper feeder) then the ADF roller assembly will need to be replaced. Try a copy on the flat glass area. If it work, then it's the ADF, If not then the upper scanner assembly with have to be replaced.
