There are many reasons, why your dell t5400 is beeping. Here
are a few that may help you resolve the problem.

-A 3rd party device such as a keyboard may be plugged in while the button is stuck, or the keyboard or 3rd party device may have malfunctioned so you should try unplugging all Third Party Devices.

-Memory (Ram) or Graphic Card may not be seated correctly or could of possibly died. Although usually when users experience such issues with memory there computer fails to boot.

what OS was on this PC before?

Try removing the battery for a few seconds and putting it back in again.
If that doesn't work. It could either be that the battery is flat, or the battery is not an offical Dell battery.

• Turn the machine off and unplug from power.
  
• Locate and remove the CMOS battery.
• Disconnect the hard disk from power
• Leave it like that for a few minutes and the connect everything.
• Start the machine now.

1. compare the frequency (MHz) of ur new RAM with the old one.

2. it should be compatible (high frequency RAMs are not compatible on all systems)

Woops -the blinking amber light of doom is a common fault on dells -
usually a solid amber is the Power supply while a blinking one indicates Motherboard problems. If machine is still under warranty dell will replace it.
If not then it will cost you to have them replaced.
