Where is humidistat? - LG DH404E Dehumidifier

Usually the unit is mounted to the cold air return (cold or intake air) and the round hose is then attached to the plenum (hot or discharge air). The humidistat is usually mounted just above the unit onto the meta plenum, unless you have a control somewhere else or your main t/stat has that capability built in. Its usually wired in with the furnace 24Vac control (or whatever yours happens to be) so that the unit only comes only when the furnace is on.

I have the delonghi DEN500P and the unit runs but does not condense any moisture? The appropriate buttons have been set to bring the unit humidity setting well below humidity in room

could be a bad humidistat or a bad PTC relay on the compressor, check for voltage going to compressor, and check neutral continuity, if there is both then you have a bad compressor, check warranty on comp replacement, if no voltage then the humidistat is probably bad

Dehumidifiers are generally a very simple appliance, however a humidistat is one of those items a person tends to rely on to provide feedback. You may want to remove the grille area where the humidistat is mounted and inspect for foreign material in the way of the sensor. If nothing foreign is detected then you should replace the humidistat.

is there a solution for the E3 code?

Hi.
It is simple and easy to fix. E1 code for sensor behind right side grill. Take right side grill out, unplug sensor from wire socker and plug back. It is solve problem sometimes. Unit MUST be unplugged from outlet.
If no help, you need new sensor .

the humidistat is inside the machine behind the control panel. it has a mylar piece that expands and contracts according to room humidity. one side is connected to a super sensitive switch that is part of the fan/compressor circuit. you could just jump this out with a piece of wire but you'll have no control over the humidity. the unit will just keep on running.

sounds like a faulty humidistat, but may also be nearly out of freon. I have a GE unit that is also a portable air conditioner...works great for 5 years now...

A humidistat from a different brand will work, provided it is mounted well & hooked up properly. Make sure the replacement is designed to switch the compressor directly.

You can test the humidistat fairly easily, using a volt-ohm meter. Just set the meter to RX1 scale and attach its leads to the humidistat's terminals. Rotate the humidistat's knob as far as it will turn in both directions. If the volt-ohm meter registers zero ohms through only part of the humidistat dial's range, the humidistat is working. If it registers zero through the entire range, it's broken and must be replaced. Dehumidifier Overflow Cutoff Switch Test- Using a volt-ohm meter, you can tell if the overflow switch works or not. Clip the leads to the terminals on the switch. Depress the bar or trip lever on the switch. If the meter's needle doesn't show continuity and no continuity as the switch is clicked back and forth, the switch is probably faulty and will need replacement.
