What is the best way to connect an external EQ or Feedback Destroyer unit to a Behringer PMP3000

Get an "insert snake" which splits each of two TRS plugs into TWO TS plugs.
Plug the TRS ends into the MAIN INSERT jacks and each of the "TIP" plugs at the other end into inpout jacks of the destroyer. Plug the "RING" plugs into the output jacks of the destroyer. You will need a snake with at least two sets of splits. I use a Behringer PROCOM compressor. For those the TRS plugs go into the channel insert jacks and the tips and ring plugs go to the in and out of each channel of the compressor respectively.

Low to midrange feedback

If the guitar can "hear" a speaker that is driven by it then it will feedback if gain is set high enough (doesn't take much). The guitar makes a wonderful microphone. Often you can actually see the strings vibrate while feedback is in progress. Keep the speakers facing away from these guitars to reduce the chance of feedback. Sometimes you can increase the threshold before feedback by using your EQ on the amp. The acoustic guitars are FAR more susceptible to this than the solid body electrics..

Do i leave feedback ferret on all the time or take it out when feedback is measured

Normally you find where feedback occurs, notch it out with the EQ and recheck for feedback. When system is stable you can take out the ferret.

My high end stopped working in both my speakers

First thing is to run a known signal from a simple device like a small CD player to verify the problem.

If these are driven from a mixer, the EQ could be set to kill the highs.

Assuming it isn, something simple like an EQ setting, probably the units will have to be serviced. I know you would already have checked the EQ on the back of these things as a first step.

Remember to ALWAYS power these from the same source as the devices connected to them to avoid ground loops and damage.

Supersonic feedback can fry these. Oscillations higher pitch than you can hear can put too much power into the tweeters of these.

I have 2 PGX-4 sm58 systems and 1 PGX-14 guitar system, problem is sometimes the mics make a load honking noise? I have returned the mics once and got new ones, same thing still happens. Not all the time...

If its feedback that is the problem, Try moving the speaker stacks forward. You shouldn't be ahead of an imaginary line drawn from one stack to the other. Another thing to do is; if you have a graphic EQ with peak lights on each slider, try dialing that frequency down a bit to remove the feedback. If you are relying on the sound from your mains to here yourself, you should invest in at least one monitor cab for the people using the mikes. Hope this helps.

Connection

There are 2 ways to have an EQ in the system. If the mixer (1204) has inserts for the mains, you can use a set of insert cables to connect the EQ. If not, connect the Output of the mixer to the Input of the EQ and the Output of the EQ to the Input of the Amp.

The insert cables will allow you to electrically connect the EQ as described above only using a single set of cables. These cables are 1/4" balanced or stereo at one end (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) and dual XLR at the other. You will need 2 insert cables, one for right and one for left.

Hope this helps,
