This is almost always due to lint build up in the vent pipe. pull the dryer out from the wall, disconnect the vent pipe. look inside the rear of the dryer and into the pipe. remove lint that is present. go out doors and examine the vent from that end. finally remove the lint catcher in the dryer and look in there. remove any lint you see.

Has air flow problem, check to make sure the vent going to the outside is not blocked. If it isnt, you should be able to take off back cover of dryer. Should be a duct that air goes through, take it apart and make sure there is no lint in bottom of it. I had the same problem and that fixed it.

First thing I would do is clean from screen filter all the way out. I would clean and vacuum all the dust in the vent.
If problem still persists, I would have the heating element replaced

The vent may be stopped up, or the vent hose crimped so the air cannot escape, you can check the air flow at the vent on the outside of the house while the dryer is running.
try cleaning the vent and the lint screen with a vacuum cleaner, you may need to replace the vent hose, this should solve the problem

Go into atic and see what the vent is made of . Home depot sells 4 inch connectors whether hose or aluminum maybe 1 foot long . They may even sell a 4" brush connected to about a 10 foot cable ( a lot of parts houses do ) . Cut the tubing or hose and feed the cable down to someone who can pull the brush down . The top portion you will have to use injinuity to clean .
