The purpose of this washer is to reduce the friction between the auger and the body of the grinder head. During the grinding process the auger is pushing food/meat forward to the disc and respectively reacting itsef backward. So, the washer goes over the back shaft of the auger as a surface of the contact with the body. You have to put it over this shaft before assembing the auger with the head body. The pasta maker attachment and the grinder both have identical augers.

I have found an instruction manual for the pasta attachment DLC-054 in my parents cookbook stand. I would be happy to copy for "f star".
