have you tried other a different flash drive of something like a usb charger etc? If it works then then the problem is with the flash drive, if not them its with your USB port

in device management uninstall all USB drivers. restart the laptop.

if it still dont work then unistall the software for the mobile. restart the laptop

install the software again, then connect the mobile.

if still not working try your mobile on another pc or laptop, if it work then you may have a problem
with your windows USB drivers, which mean you will need to reinstall windows on your lap.

you can test you mobile with another usb cable also on your lap.

you shouldnt need a driver for xp and above , if it isnt auto installing then your pen drive is malfunctioning

it is broken...you need to get a new one...

you can buy a wireles linksys usb for your lap top and have a wireless router linksys stationary and the lap top usb ..... will pick up the signal for your lap top, i have a usb port linksys and it works great, but u do need a router in your home to pick up the signal

Usually Vista does not need driver to install an USB Mouse.
Try this:
Turn off the laptop, then put the mouse connection. Turn on again. See if now it is working. The mouse should be connected in "off"
If still does not work, try put in other USB port of the laptop. Usually a laptop has at least 2 USB port. Remember to connect it always in "off".
