Sounds like the screen is going bad. Isolate the problem by plugging an
external monitor to the laptop. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor,
friend, relative or co-worker to plug to the laptop. It can be any kind of monitor even the
old big fat
crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's
vga
port. If the Borrowed monitor does not show the rainbow lines, that proves your video card is ok and the problem is
your lcd screen. If the borrowed monitor shows the same rainbow lines it means your video card inside the
computer has the issue.
The video will show
on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems
will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down
the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru
F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have
the icon of a display.
Check your ports on the lap top see if you have s video or hdmi or dvi or VGA the best is hdmi if you have that get a cable for either one of you connections also match connections from the lap top to what you have for your TV more than likely if they are both fairly new you should have hdmi connections for both get a cable that is long enough. I get my cables at amazon.com their prices are the bomb.
Connect them together both ends to lap top and to tv then make sure that you have a line in jack stereo jack with RCA ends hook that to the back of your tv and your lap top in stereo jack even better to your surround sound system. Set your TV to AVI 1 or 2 or DVI or whichever is your connection start a movie on the lap top and turn your sound on and see if you have a picture on your screen you should have the same thing as what is showing on your monitor on your lap top. Adjust settings and have fun!
MY BUFFALO HARD DRIVE model hd-HC320U2-us WILL NOT LOAD WHEN CONNECTED TO MY LAP OR DESK TOP WILL I BE ABLE TO GET MY INFORMATION OFF THE HARD DRIVE, IS THE INFO GONE! WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM POWER LIGHT COMES ON BUT THE ACCESS LIGHT DOES NOT BLINK............ TO SHOW CONNECTION HAPPENING
ou can try to uninstall and einstall the drivers of your video card first
If your having Lines across your screen to find out if that would be the video card LCD or software which is windows try going into the BIOS of your system if the lines show in BIOS that would be a Hardware issue, now to eliminate the hard ware causing the lines on your screen go to safe mode where the video card driver is disabled if the lines still exsist then the lines that you see will be the fault of the LCD, third if you can connect to an xternal LCD or monitor and the Lines still Exist then the Video ard is also Faulty ^_^
all that you need to do is to delete the preferred networks list from the computer, and try to scan and connect to the network again....make sure that you are typing the correct security key. still if the problem exixts, then add the network manually...the problem will get off for sure.... also if there is any facility like wi-fi protected security is enabled in the wireless router, go ahead and disable it...
I would like to understand if the screen atleast flicker when the system is turned on. Is the screen power led lit on or flickering. In case you have no signal on the screen or no blinking also, you may have to get the lap for a HW repair as it could be a lap monitor HS issue. Else it should show atleast the initial screen while boot up as the screen would be working with the basic Bios Instructions which doesnt have any driver or complicated OS Code to run the screen. So ideally it should work at the initial stage of Bios to confirm that the screen has no hardware issue. Good Luck.
needs new hard drive, new reinstalation of vista or xp. the problem is it passes Bios but it doesnt load the operating system, it passed the video graphic permission.
I too was frustrated because of this. I played with the watch until I found the solution. Hope this helps!
For some reason I needed to be in the training mode to do this.
From the Time/Date mode, do the following: 1.) Press the start/stop button (upper metal button) to get out of Time/Date mode 2.) Press the Training side of the bezzle. You will see a workout display. 3.) Touch the GPS side of the bezzle until "to location" shows up 4.) Press the lap/reset button (lower metal button) to display a menu (may have to do this a couple of times, eventually when you release the button the menu does show up) 5.) Slide downward through the menu options until you find GPS 6.) Click the start/stop button (upper metal button) to toggle the gps on or off 7.) Press the lap/reset button (lower metal button) to exit the menu (goes to the "to a location" screen) 8.) Press and hold the Training side of the bezzle to return to your training screen
