I seem to be having the same issue with a Maytag refrigerator model M1TXEGMYS01. I would like to thoroughly clean all shelves of this new-to-is refrigerator but I can’t seem to figure out how to remove the glass from the plastic housing. I was able to take the end and central brackets off (that hold the drawers) but I can’t figure the rest of it out... and the manual I looked up didn’t provide any information on separating the housing either. Please see pic attached. Thanks in advance!
there must be a glazier business in the town to repair windows etc so go there with the length and width measurements and the thickness should be no less than 1/4 " or 6 mm to carry the shelf load
as the shop for a recommended glass thickness but I would not go under 6 mm and make sure that the edges are sander to get rid of sharp edges
Well, I don't know about the individual shelves, but for the long glass shelf above the crisper drawers, there are two white clips located at the back edges of the glass that need to be pried out with a knife blade, or something similar. Place your blade in between one of the grooves of where the clip meets the plastic frame (and, NOT between the clip and glass! ) and pry the clip with a bit of a sideways motion. It's a little stubborn, but if you break a clip, don't worry, you really don't need it for the shelf to function.
Anyway, after you pry up the two corner clips, lift and slide the glass toward the back to get it out of the front groove, and voila!, the glass comes right out.
Almost all measuring tapes have markings for the wall studs so once you've found one stud, placing one mark on the stud the next mark indicates the next stud.
You should have pins or clips that rest in a standard that you can take out for adjustments. Simply pop them out . If yours are made onto the shelf itself, then raise up on the front side of the glass then pull it out from the post or standard.
