Just had the same problem and replacing the drum unit fixed the trouble. Check the drum life and replace the drum.

U50 indicates the machine is too hot. Solution allow to cool down and retry

You are getting that error due to not having the correct sata controler driver installed.

You can either download and install the drivers from a FLoppy Diskette Drive or slipstream the drivers via these instructions:

same problem as wanda96 not used scanner for a good while then when i need it getting this error message

I removed the top panel of washer(4 screws and slide). Then found the small 1/4" hose that goes from drum to drain hose to be pluged with goo. I cleaned inside of hose and washer worked fine.
