6 yr old bottom freezer, double door refrigerator only gets cool, not cold even though it's been on max cold for 2 weeks. Still runs quietly and not all the time. No improvement from cleaning all coils. How do I fix it?
Do you have a full frost pattern (coating) on freezer coils or see a ice ball, if ice ball Leak in system or bad valve in compressor. not worth fixing. go on (repair clinic .com).
you have a dampener and a fan to let the cold air go to all the areas check to make sure fan is running push in light switch in freezer and llisten for fan could be problem or no power to fan from main control board.
Dampener is flapper door that lets cold air from freezer go into ref. section
are your doors sealed, gaskets, frapper between door on ref section closing.
also your return air ducts need to be clear of ice, is your ice maker working that means that it is below 10 degees and repairable.
Thanks. There is no ice build up anywhere. Ice cubes are only slightly firm in a tray put at bottom of freezer. Ice and water in door stopped working. All gaskets and seals work well. I held the light switch closed but didn't hear the fan come on. Could the problem be a bad temperature sensor or the control board?
if your fan is not working in the freezer this is your problem!
eather the fan does not have power to it from control board or bad fan.

SOURCE: My Maytag refrigerator is not
I had the same problem and had to change the control board,
the technician showed me how to defrost manually to keep the fridge cold until
he could get the new control board and change it. Open the refrigerator door push in the light button to turn
off the light inside the fridge at the top (keep it pushed in) then push the
left button of the refrigerator temperature setting 3 times and let go of the
light button the letter "d" will be displayed.
Push the left button one more time number "5" will be displayed, push
the left button a third time and you will hear noises this should start the defrost
process. Wait a while then open the
freezer and check the coils on the back wall of the freezer, the ice should
have melted. Wait a couple of hours and
your fridge should start getting cold again.

This could be the result of your refrigerator not defrosting properly. Look inside the freezer at the rear wall and see ice a layer of ice or frost is building. If the answer is yes then this would indicate a problem causing the refrigerator not to defrost. Hopefully it is only the=> 67002493 Defrost Heater Assembly
Instructions on how to test the defrost heater are found on the same page as the 67002493 Defrost Heater Assembly
Then there is also the possibility that the=> W10165425 Defrost Thermostat
If after testing these parts you don't find the problem then the problem will go to the defrost control found inside the fresh food compartment and behind the control panel=> W10207861 User Control and Display Board. I hope the problem is one of the two first parts I mentioned because the W10207861 User Control and Display Board
is expensive. I will be here to answer any questions you may have and assist you in you as you repair your refrigerator, Thanks Sea Breeze
