Dont know why that would have happened in an update? something else must have happened. MS updates do not cause those type of problems. what PC do you have, what was happening when this happened. you can reinstall google, the folders for favorites should still be on computer unless you were using Chrome and deleted it somehow. If so, then you may be lost...if using internet explore then
the favorites are still there. since you said 'bookmarks' you probably using Google Chrome. If deleted somehow, then you may be in trouble. You can reinstall from web BUT your bookmarks, may be gone. sign in to chrome after reinstalling and your email will still be there-you may have to find all your bookmarks again though. knowing what happend, what you were doing would make answering this easier.

SOURCE: task bar displays

Hello,

Windows usually hides the task bar icons you have not used recently.
If that is the case, you must have a small left arrow < at the left of the last icon displayed. Click that arrow and the hidden icons will be displayed for a short while.

Usually the safely remove hardware is present (shown or hidden) whenever there is a removable equipement.

For the local or dial up connection, you can configure your computer to display it on the task bar. Here is how to do it in Windows XP

1. Press the Start button on the left, choose Connect To > Show all connections. You will see all your connections, each one symbolized by an icon.
2. Point the mouse cursor to the one you want, Right Click Mouse button, then Properties.
3 Under the General Tab, put a check mark in Show icon in notification area when connected
4. Click OK.

Hope it helps

How to restore deleted bookmark folder

If you just deleted it, you can go to your menu bar under "Edit" and "Undo Delete". If you deleted it sometime in the past, I'm afraid it's lost.

Remove bookmarks

The bookmarks bar contains all your bookmarks and bookmark folders created in Google Chrome. You can dock the bar directly underneath the address bar at the top of the browser window for easy access to your favorite sites.

Dock the bookmarks bar

  1. Click the Chrome menu snp_9721c573e41777fba43e1498ad084e3b160c_2696434_en_v2 on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Bookmarks.
  3. Select Always show bookmarks bar.
You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+Shift+B (Windows and Chrome OS) and Command-Shift-B (Mac) to toggle the bar on and off.

Hide or undock the bookmarks bar

Right-click (or control-click on a Mac) the bookmarks bar and deselect Always show bookmarks bar. When the bookmarks bar is undocked, you can always find it at the top of the New Tab page.

I have lost the file,edit,view,history,bookmarks,tools,help...toolbars..i don't know how i get them all back..

That is the browser "menu bar", with dropdown menus for various tasks.

If the menu bar does not display, press the "Alt" key (if you are using Windows). That will restore the menu bar temporarily. You may then proceed to restore it permanently, by going to the menu bar and selecting: View > Toolbars > Menu bar

I delted toolbars to make my window bigger and now I can't get the toolbars back. I don't have anything to click on - just the windows that are open.

The Firefox "menu bar" includes dropdown menus for various tasks (including "File", "Edit", etc.). If the menu bar does not display, press the "Alt" key (if you are using Windows). That will restore the menu bar temporarily. To restore it permanently, go to the menu bar and select:
View > Toolbars > Menu bar

The Firefox "navigation toolbar" includes the "back", "forward", "reload" buttons, and the address bar (where you type a web address). If the navigation bar does not display, go to the menu bar and select:
View > Toolbars > Navigation toolbar

The Firefox "bookmarks toolbar" displays frequently used bookmarks. If the bookmark toolbar does not display, go to the menu bar and select:
View > Toolbars > Bookmarks toolbar
