There are two types of IP addresses. 1. Public IP address and 2. Private IP address. Public IP address is also known as the internet address which was provided by your ISP.

Private ip address is also known as the internal ip address which is assigned by you for computer, laptop etc.

If you disconnect from one ISP to another the computer IP address (private) of your computer will remains same. But , the external ip address (internet) will not be the same. It will differ from one provider to another provider. So to change your external Ip address just rest your modem. To check your external IP address visit, IP-Details.com Good luck.

Your IP address is assigned by your network system.

If you have a conflict with your IP, you can try a ipconfig /release or ipconfig /renew.

At the command prompt type
ipconfig /? for all available switches.

If you are using a cable modem, you would want to reset to factory first.

SOURCE: Need IP address for Dell 5100cn printer

You will need to print off a printer settings page. Usually found under the Reports menu or something similar. It will list the IP address. Once you have the IP Address, make sure it is set correctly in your printer drivers in the Control Panel on your computer.

SOURCE: dell 5100cn change ip address

Changing Printer's IP Address isn't that complicated. There are two ways on how to change the printer's IP Address.

If you know the old printer's IP address, you can simply type that old IP address on the Address Bar of your Internet Explorer or any other browser (ex: http://192.168.1.101). It should redirect you to the printer's User Interface. From there you can go to Network then TCP/IP settings. You can change the IP address of the printer. Make sure to use an IP address within the same range of your network.

The other way to change the printer's IP address is by its own Menu/Settings on the printer's LCD panel.
On your printer, press Menu then got Settings. Look for Network or LAN settings and click on Advance. Select TCP/IP and click on Edit. You can now change the IP address of the printer from there. Click on Done or Save after that.

Note: Make sure the use the correct IP address within the network's range.

SOURCE: I am not able to change ip on my Dell 1720dn

I did a forced reset to default... Open the front panel, hold down the green and orange buttons, turn on the printer. Wait as the lights cycle until the error light remains on, then close the front panel. A new config page will print, and then you will be able to connect to the printer using the new DHCP address that has been assigned.

When networking, I can see the printer on the network, but when I send a test page, the printer immediately says "cancelling". I cannot figure what the problem is. Any suggestions?

Hi,

There must be IP address conflict.
Check the Dell printer IP address

Open Printers and Faxes Folder
Right click on printer icon ( dell )
Click on Properties
Under Ports Tab check the IP address with check mark
If the Ports IP address is Different as that in Dell Printer
Highlight the Port with IP address and click on Configure IP below
Change the IP address to the Printer and Click OK

Also check if there are print job stuck in the Queue ( like no. 1,2 )
The printer icon should show READY and 0
Or Else, Right click on the printer icon and Click Cancel Print job.

Restart your PC and Printer and try to print. It should work
If this does not work, let me know what is the Operating system of your PC

Try this Step if your Operating system is Windows 7
Right click on the printer icon
Left click on Troubleshoot
Continue with the Wizard and complete it
You are ready to print.

Check with Netgear for the IP address which allows you to connect with the routers settings through your computer. For Linksys, it is 192.168.1.1

IP address Problem with Dell Studio 1525

Most probably its the problem with the autonet ip address where the computer picks a bad ip address. If your internet service provider has DHCP enabled you cannot put the manual IP address. If its a new problem try system restore, uninstalling and reinstalling networkdrivers. resetting winsock.(search google)

Changing a Dell 3010cn IP address and Storecenter

Print a settings page from the printer. If you are not sure on how to get the settings page, download the user manual from support.dell.com, there should be instructions in there on how to get this. Once you have the settings page locate the IP address on the print out. Take this IP address (which may be different then the one you want to use) and open internet explorer, put the IP address in where you would normally type a web address, hit enter. This will take you to the embedded web server of the printer. Once you are there, you can look for printer settings, ip address or TCP/IP address. Once you have found this, you can set a static (meaning it will not change, unless you change it) IP address (the IP address your tech person gave you) and submit the information to the printer. The printer must be on and in the ready state for this to take hold. If you are prompted for a username and password for the embedded web server, dell default username in small case is admin, leave password blank or username admin, password is password. To confirm that the address has taken, print another settings page from the printer.

Trouble installing on a laptop

Check your ip address and other network settings of your Dell. Also check your firewall, it may be blocking it. You can always "manually select port to install" which is usually the default anyways. Just create a standard tcp/ip port using the ip address of the copier.
