Question about Lenovo Computers & Internet
Hi, my lenovo u260 shows vertical lines over more than half of my screen. Pressing on the keyboard frame occasionally helps, but not always. 1 month guarantee left. What can I do to resolve the problem? Doe I have to change the screen??

SOURCE: Lenovo 3000 N100 Screen Problem
First, plug a external monitor and toggle the screen to discard configuration or software problems. If the image displays correctly you have a problem either in the LCD screen or its connection cable.
Open the bezel and check for loose or damaged connection cable. Look specially next to the hinge, ON THE LEFT.
In case the problem is not the cable you might have to get a new LCD. You can have replacement parts and instructions here:

You have a dead column of pixels. The only solution I'm afraid is to replace the LCD screen.
I'm sorry the news isn't good but can you take a moment and rate the solution as fixya even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear? Thanks! :c)

Sounds like a problem with the video adapter chip. The chip might be either defective or experiencing bad connection with the motherboard. In order to fix this problem, you will need to disassemble the notebook, pull out the motherboard & inspect the video chip & its connection points to the motherboard. If the video chip is defective, you might have to replace the motherboard.
