I turned the filter counterclockwise and tried to pull it out but it was stuck. It backed out a little bit but stuck and now it won't push back in to the locked position or come out. It won't move. I turned off the water supply and tried running water out the system but none came out. What do I do to get this old filter out and replace it?
More likely it was in twisted condition when it was turned to luck it or unlock it and stayed in twisted position and will not turn. get a hair dryer and blow the hot air around where it lucks. push filter in and turn to unlock it. hot air expand the lucking plastic cover and it allows for easy turns

Hi Pour some water into the ice mold. Let it kick out a batch. Keep doing that till it starts doing on its own. If it already has some ice on it take a hair dryer to it and make it release. Watch it come around and listen for it to fill. Also it's possible that the fill nozzle is frozen. That's the little black rubber hose hanging down from the ceiling of the freezer above the icemaker.2.the icemaker gear could be broken . The ice maker will have to be removed to check this. There are a few steps you can take to get your icemaker working (be sure the bail wire above the ice tray is in the down position): Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.
1) If the icemaker doesn't make ice but you can see the arm swing into motion and you hear a buzz for about 10 seconds after it is finished, the water valve is asking for water that isn't arriving. This means the valve and the solenoid are probably okay, but the water supply is not. Be sure the water supply line isn't kinked behind or beneath the refrigerator (?-inch copper tubing is much better than plastic fill line).
2) Check to see if something has caused ice to back up around the mechanism-this can cause the fill tube to freeze, blocking the mechanism. When ice cubes are small and seem to be getting smaller, it generally indicates a frozen fill tube.
3) Check the water line that enters the back of the freezer for a blockage. Find the water shut-off valve behind the refrigerator or under the sink, turn it off, unscrew the copper line from the back of the refrigerator, put the copper line in a bucket, turn on the valve, and see if pressurized water pours out.
4) Check the tap valve; a bad tap valve may cause the problem where the icemaker's supply tube connects to the water pipe. If necessary, replace the inlet valve and the tap valve. For the tap valve, use the type that requires you to drill a ?-inch hole (as opposed to the "self-piercing" type). You can do this yourself, or call a repairperson or plumber to install an inline water filter when replacing the valve.

The water filter is located in the upper right-hand
corner of the refrigerator. The water filter filters water
for the ice maker and the water dispenser.
1. Turn the water filter 1/2 turn counterclockwise and
pull it down.
2. To install the filter, align the indication mark
(unlock position) and push it up while turning 1/2
turn clockwise until the lock position is aligned.
Do not over tighten.
That would be to the left while facing the filter and opposite for installation. Note where and when to push up. Please let me know if you have any questions and please rate if I am able to help you, Thanks, Sea Breeze
