SOURCE: HP Deskjet F2180 Margins incorrect for label printing

I eventually managed to print my labels one sheet at a time by forcing the label top edge down the page. You can insert one or two lines above the label template and adjust the font size to get the right distance. It took a bit of trial & error but got there in the end. Hope it helps you

SOURCE: HP 1280 Error message

OK, to make this clearer, I had the same problem on my HP C7180. It seems to be rampant throughout their Multifunction printers.

My Fix, combining several others:

1. Go to Printers and Faxes on your Start Menu. In the Printers window, select Server Properties from the File menu. Use the Forms tab of the Print Server Properties dialog box to view printer forms. You may also see lots of forms that you wish your printer could see, but don't worry, it'll see the one you create now. And be sure when you create your form that you use the narrower dimension for the width and the longer dimension for the height. Usually for envelopes you will print in landscape mode.
2. Select the Create A New Form check box.
3. Enter a new name for the Form in the Form Description For field.
4. Use the fields in the Measurements area to set the paper size and margins. *Use the narrower dimension for the width and the longer dimension for the height*.
5. Choose the Save Form button to save the form. The Save Form button only gets pick-able when you type in a different name than what's there already.

Now go to your document program, such as Word. Make sure the window for the document you want to print is the active window. Select File/Page Setup..., Paper Size Tab, and there select the form you just created from the dropdown list

Still in your document program, select File/Print... then Properties. Select the Features tab, which may be differently named. Under Resizing Options/Size dropdown, select More... and there you'll find your newly created form down at the bottom, under Custom. Pick it.

If you're printing envelopes or other things where the way you view it it's wider side-to-side than it is tall, be sure and select "landscape" in both "page setup..." on your document program and in File/Print.../Properties/Features?Basic Options.

When I did all this methodically, I was able to print my Christmas envelopes. Yay!

Sounds like you are trying to convince the machine to print a document on to paper half the size required without telling the machine to reduce or scale the document to fit the target paper

How do I reset my SX215 to factory settings

When you are in the application that you are going to print from. Go to the menu bar, click on File - Page Setup. Here you should be able to change the paper size you wish to print out in. If you want to set the paper size by default to A4, then you will need to (Windows7) click on the Start button - Devices and Printers, select the printer that you want to change the paper size, right click on the printer - Printer Preferences, a dialog box appears, select the paper size you want in the paper size drop down list, click - Apply - OK. This should then have set the paper size to A4 by default.

Oki - how to print booklet?

The paper you have inserted into the printer, and your page size settings have to match. You can't load A4 paper and tell it to print A5 size. This is why it is printing so small on the A4 paper. It assumes you need to trim it down to A5 size after printing.

How do i go about printing different size of photos? they are all different sizes.

There are two basic ways to change the print size of your photos/documents.

1. You can go to file/print or you can press cntrl + p on your keyboard. the print menu will come up. go to properties/features. when it opens, look for resizing options. Under resizing options you will see print at actual size and scale to paper size. Select scale to paper size and list box will activated. Select the paper size to scale to from the list. If you are not familiar with paper sizes then this list introduction should do. The conventional official paper size is A4, half of that is A5, and half of that is A6.

2. other procedure is to right click on the photo/image and select print. a print wizard will pop up. it will ask you to chose size of images.

Good luck,

Ryan

Printing on custom paper sizes I can not set my a3 printer to print any longer than 42cm x 29.7cm A3, It should be able to print 29.7x 84cm half of a2

A3+ (13" x 19")
322.2 x 475.0 mm / 12.7 x 18.7 in
A3
290.2 x 412.0 mm / 11.4 x 16.2 in
Ledger (11" x 17")
272.6 x 423.8 mm / 10.7 x 16.7 in

4" x 6" / 101.6 x 152.4 mm
94.8 x 144.4 mm / 3.7 x 5.7 in

Borderless printing will allow you to print up to the full size of the paper but no larger than 297 x 420mm for A3 and 330 x 482 mm for A3+.

It is not possible to print on A2 paper.

Printer problem

From the Printers & Faxes window, check in the i9950 Printing Preferences, Page Setup tab, for the following settings:

Page Size and Printer Paper Size are both set for the same size (both A4 or both A3).
Printing Type is set for Normal-size Printing

The graphic on the left should now show A4 (or A3) and Normal-size Printing in the legend.

Once that is set, verify from the application you're printing from that these settings are not being changed by the application (Preferences button in the print dialog box).

Card making

This machine will only print certain sizes as borderless. A5 is not one of them. You can use the following media with this feature: Matte Paper - Heavyweight: A4, Letter Premium Glossy Photo Paper:A4, Letter, 5 x 7", 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6", 8 x 10" Photo Paper:A4 Premium Semigloss Photo Paper:A4, Letter, 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6" Glossy Photo Paper:Letter, 10 x 15 cm/4 x 6" As you can see A5 is not in the list, therefor you will not be able to print A5 borderless via the normal means.
