LG front loader not filling properly

I recently asked a question about my LG, but got only answers about a "drainage" problem (water leaving the washer). The problem is in the tunnel where the water goes after it flows through the soap dish and BEFORE it enters the washing machine. It is flowing too slowly (only started doing this recently) and then the water backs up into the soap dish and pours out the front of the machine. When we pull out the soap dish while the water is filling, we can see that it just isn't flowing fast enough and we believe there might be something blocking it. We don't know how to access that part of the washer. The soap dish area is very clean, we don't use fabric softeners.

Yes!  We have the same problem.  I actually don't know the actual model # but it's a Kenmore.  just started.  It was intermittent initially.  A repair person came and then of course it worked again....twice he came, twice it worked, now it doesn't again.  Apparantly is something with the circuit board.  Sears can't provide someone on the phone to troubleshoot it.  Now the repair person is unfortunately sick.  He's the only one in town.  The next town over has a repair person who is coming tomorrow but has 18 other service calls so can't come to our place. He comes once/ week.  We have 3 children.  Ack!  Life could be worse I suppose.  Any suggestions anyone?

You have to remove the top of machine to have access here. Plug off the wall; you need a grip plier to loosen the clip to see what is blocking the hose.................refit carefully & firmly.

I have the LG Tromm 27'' Front Loader model WM2277HW

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

LG themselves have some information on this error code..

Samsung J845 front loader washing machine. Error

Hi
An OE error presents if the washing machine has not successfully drained the water in ten minutes.
there are a few simple steps to take before calling for service.
Step 1: Check the drain pump filter.
Items caught in the drain filter will prevent proper drainage. Over time build up can occur from detergents and additives used in the machine. Manually drain unit through the drain hose, then lay a towel down to catch the water, and remove the filter. Clean the filter thoroughly and restart the machine.

Step 2: Check the washers drain hose.
If the drain hose is not installed properly, the washer will not drain properly. The drain hose should not be installed more than 1 meter higher than the bottom of the washing machine.

Step 3: Confirm that the washer is leveled properly.
If the unit is not leveled properly, it will not drain properly. The front of the unit cannot be higher than the back or vice versa. If not properly leveled, the water can flow back into the machine. If this is the cause of the problem, please level the machine using the supplied leveling wrench. When you place a level on the washing machine, the bubble should be in the center. Confrim that the washer is leveled from side to side and front to back.
you can perform a diagonal test when leveling the washing machine to ensure that the unit does not tilt from corner to corner.

LG WM1812CW washer smell

First, clean out the filter behind the access door on the lower left front of the machine. Residue left in the filter can contribute to odor issues. Second, buy a package of AhFresh or Whilaway and run a cycle with that, hot water, longest cycle. (unfortunately you do not have the sanitary cycle or the tub clean cycle on your model) Third, and most importantly, USE LESS DETERGENT. Top load washers use up to 45 gallons of water per cycle. Your machine uses 12. Use one tablespoon of HE detergent and one teaspoon of fabric softener (if you use softener) per cycle. My personal LG washer is now over 5 years old, and have only had an odor issue one time. I leave the door closed after I wash. (the tub is vented) Never have had any mold or mildew issues with my washer. Was doing several loads per day when I had 7 at home, now only doing 3 loads a week with all the kids, their spouses, and grandkid gone. Still no odor problems. Great machines if used properly. Note: the odor / mold / mildew issues are basically the same with any front load machine, regardless of brand, and most can be solved following the above advise. Good luck.
