Hi,
It might be worth checking the intake screen to make sure it isn't clogged with fluff. Also, the on / off switching is often linked in with an ice-detector and a humidity sensor and if either of these have come loose from where they should be problems may arise.
One rather unlikely possibility, from your description of the fault, is that the microswitch for the "bucket full" detector is defective.

I have one machine with a defective humidity sensor and it will only run when I select "continuous" running as opposed to "60% humidity".

If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing ability! If they do not, please add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further.
Cheers, D

My lg dehumidifier lhd45et8 does not gather water,it appears that an external hose was connected at one time and i don't know ifa piece was taken out to connect the exteranl hose and how do I get it...

Hi,
If you are not getting water at all then the hose is not the issue...
If you are getting water and it is just not going into the bucket, then plug the hole were the hose hooked up with silicone caulk and a plug fashioned out of whatever you can find that size...

If there is no water, then the compressor has a freon leak or is bad and the dehumidifier is junk... it will not be worth fixing it as cheap as new ones are...

How is the external tube for draining outside connected to the dehumidifier. Does the tube insert into the right angle nipple, then the threded end conected to a drain hose?

No. The tube inserts straight into the drain hole. Follow the 4 sets below.

1. Connect a garden hose to the threaded drain hose connector.
2. Remove the drain-hole cover.
3. Push hose connector tightly into the drain-hole on Rear Grille.
4. Press the hose down and make sure the "Arrow" on the tab is pointing upward.

NOTE:
The hose attachment will accept a standard garden hose fitting. Do not over tighten the hose when
connecting it to the hose connector, use a rubber washer and tighten by hand firmly without stripping the plastic threads. Be sure the hose lays flat and has no kinks, as it will not drain properly.

How do you hook it up to a floor drain?

With most portable dehumidifiers use a bucket to catch the condensate. Then the bucket is full the dehumidifier stops, then you need to empty it and replace the bucket to get the dehumidifier to start working again.

To make this unit run continually, the bucket can be modified so a garden hose can be attached and the hose can be feed into a floor drain. To do this look at the bottom of the bucket, there should be a hose connector where you can attach a standard garden hose. You will need to drill out the center of the hose connector with a 1/4" drill bit. Then you can attach the hose to the bucket and the other end into the floor drain.

How do i hook up plastic attachment so i am able to run a hose to a drain for continual usuage DH404E

Most brands have a fitting molded into the drain pan that will let you attach a garden hose to the tank. You may have to drill a hole in the fitting to allow the water to drain through.

Need a part

This appliance has 3-ft drainage hose and a 16-ft pump hose. I searched for a store that carry these hose, unfortunately, none of them sell a part or accessory for the DE500P.

Kindly click this link and verify if they could sell a hose:

Good luck.
