Set time I have the tom tom one xl and the time shows a pm instead of an am, how do I fix that?

At first use all options are available. After that many options become hidden. You will have to play with the Change Settings option until you find the one that says Show Fewer Menu Options and deactivate it. Once you do that you will recover the Change Language option.

If you are too impatient to go through the Change Settings, use the TOMTOM Home application to backup what is important on your GPS, then use the reset button. Next time you turn it on you will have the option to choose the language. To make things easier for you should you have to change any setting again, deactivate the Show Fewer Menu Options.

I've fixed quite a few of these units with this problem. I can diagnose for free (just return postage) and fix for a nominal fee (if fixable)

If the software crashed whilst updating, you will find that if you try to restore from a complete backup when you switch on next time it will either say you cant use the map or will just freeze, fix re format both the internal memory and the memory card, then find where tom tom home had stored the files, then using windows copy the contents from the 2 folders back into the relitive internal and external card, you will then find that you will get the mesage that you cant use the map, this is because tom tom home doesent always put the map data into the correct folder, to fix this find the licence data and the map data that has been stored on the sd card instead of the internal memory and copy it into the internal memory, before switching off press the reset button, when you switch on you should find that you have a working tom tom

If you have a picture of your current or last position Tap on the middle of the screen.

Then

In that main menu tap on change preference

Then

You will see a blue arrow pointing right.
Keep pressing it until you see an icon named set clock and change the time there, if you see a sync button do not press it since it may sync with a satellite 1hour infornt or behind.

Easy fix. Go to setting, time and correct.

How do I change the batteries in my Tom Tom One.

Boot up your tt, tap the screen anywhere, then tap change preferances, tap the forward arrow until you see set clock. Tap set clock and then follow the instructions.

now if this happens while connected to the computer dont wrry its not going to change the screen stays lookin like that while connected but if it happens when ur not on the computer still pretty easy to fix just delete and reinstall application use ur head on home and u can do it fast n easy

This is caused by the device being disconnected before all files were updated- the fix for the issue is here

I suddenly lost the GPS signal today and could not get it back. All I got was the "No valid GPS signal". My solution was to tap on the GPS satellite bars when in the route map. this brought up the "Status summary page of the TOMTOM.

I then again tapped the satellite bar which brought up the "GPS Status" page. I then tapped the bar labeled "configure".

The radio button next to the option titled "Minutes (dm.m') was selected. I then moved the selection to "Degrees (d.d) and it started working.

I had just downloaded the GPS fix 5 days ago so it is not like this suddenly caused it to stop working.

This may not work for everyone but this is what it took to get mine working.
