Hotpoint aquarius extra wma40 - door locked light is flashing and want lock. also before this happened a sound from the machine like an explosion which blew out fuse in the house. please advice

Hi.
I suspect that the top control board has blown , this happens when the brushes wear out in the motor, and short circuit the motor armature, which in turn blows the control board.
Either way it is likely to be an expensive repair, my advice to you would be to buy a new washer if it is more than 5 years old.
I know from experience that this is the most likely course.

My hotpoint washing machine (model wma50) will not start due to the door lock light flashing yet the door is closed

common problem on these machine's, you need a new door handle which comes as a full assembley with spring and all attached.

open the door, using star screw driver remove top and bottom screws along with two near the catch.

the doo wil split enough to remove old handle and fit new 1.

Door lock flashes doesnt work or start up

The flashing door lock light is indicating that the door is not closed proerly.
This can be caused by a weak or broken spring in the door handle.
Another reason for this to happen, is a faulty control board at the top of the washer, a blown track will cause this.
This in turn, is usally caused by a fault on the motor.
Hope this helps.

My Hotpoint Aquarius WF440 fills up fine but will not move on to rinse and spin. Engineer been out and says its the heating element. He has asked me to wash on no heat until part arrives. Since then every...

I am fairly confident that the problem is entirely due to the fact that the heater is not working.
You are going to have to wait until the new heater is fitted beore being able to tell if there is another fault.
Hope this helps.
