It all depends on the brand of your router, but mainly is to jump into the GUI with your admin password, look for DHCP options, static DHCP and save the MAC Address of the host with the desired IP.

SOURCE: Router doesn't obtain WAN IP address (DHCP)

you can hook the router up and go into the settings by when it is hooked up to your computer, type in http://192.168.0.1 and the password is usually user or admin. the password is usually password, unless it was changed. you may be able to change settings to fix this problem through that GUI

SOURCE: Actiontec GT701-WG doesn't recognize a DVR on the LAN

I think the screen you may be looking at is the Application layer forwarding screen, the drop down box being populated by DHCP clients, that's why it isn't seeing the DVR. The DMZ Hosting screen doesn't have a drop down box, it only requires an IP address to be entered.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: TRENDnet TEW-432BRP router cannot obtain IP through DHCP

it seems that ur PC & cable modem configuration is ok, now the problem is with ur router WAN interface configuration. the problem would be one out of 2 - first to check whether ur router wan interface is configured properly to obtain IP address from DHCP (if possible, u can give the static ip address with same series as cable modem) second to check with ur ISP.

How do I set a static route lan side on a tew-733gr

You need to download the user guide from here

TRENDnet Support

Basically

1. Make the computer or network device (for which you are establishing a DMZ link) has a static IP address (or you can use the DHCP reservation feature to ensure the device has a fixed IP address) (see "Set up DHCP reservation" on page 29).
A. Signing up for a Dynamic DNS service (outlined in the DDNS section) will provide identification of the router's network from the Internet.
2. Log into your router management page (see "Access your router management page" on page 22).
3. Click on Access, and click on Firewall & DMZ.

4. Next to DMZ Enable, click Enabled.
5. Next to DMZ Host IP, enter the IP address you assigned to the computer or network device to expose to the Internet.
6. To save changes, click Save Settings.

IP Conflicts in a work place

An IP address conflict occurs when two computers on a LAN or the Internet have been assigned the same IP. IP conflicts between two computers normally render either one or both of them unusable for network operations.

How IP Address Conflicts Happen

Two computers can acquire conflicting IP addresses in any of several ways:

· A system administrator assigns two computers on the LAN the same Static IP Address.

· A system administrator assigns a computer a static IP address within the local network's DHCP range (dynamic IP range), and the same address is automatically assigned by the LAN DHCP server.

· A malfunction in the network's DHCP server allows the same dynamic address to automatically be assigned to multiple computers.

· An ISP accidentally assigns two customers the same IP address (either statically or dynamically).

· A mobile computer is put into standby / hibernate mode and then awakened later.

Note that other forms of IP conflicts can also occur on a network. For example, one computer may experience an IP address conflict with itself if that computer is configured with multiple Network Adapters. System administrators may also create IP conflicts by accidentally connecting two ports of a network switch or router to each other.

Recognizing IP Address Conflicts

On most Microsoft Windows computers, if you attempt to set a fixed (static) IP address that is already active on the local network, you will receive the following pop-up error message:

The static IP address that was just configured is already in use on the network. Please reconfigure a different IP address.

On newer Microsoft Windows computers having dynamic IP conflicts, you should receive a balloon error message in the Taskbar as soon as the operating system detects the issue:

There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network.

Sometimes, especially on older Windows computers, a message similar to the following may instead appear in a pop-up window:

The system has detected a conflict for IP address...

On Mac or Linux computers, a similar message will normally appear on screen.

Resolving IP Address Conflicts

Try the following remedies for IP conflicts:

1. For networks where IP addresses are fixed (statically assigned), ensure each local host is configured with a unique IP address.

2. If your computer has a dynamically assigned address, releasing and renewing its IP address can workaround IP address conflicts.
3. If your home router is believed to have a faulty DHCP server causing IP conflicts on the home network, upgrading the router firmware may resolve this problem.

Access Error for Internet Radio in Yamaha Receiver 6295B

Use Auto/DHCP to configure the Yamaha receiver. Use DHCP on main router/AP to assign IP address. DO NOT reserve a DHCP IP address for the receiver on the main router/AP. Doing so will break all internet access for the receiver, but it will still connect to the LAN.

My router can not access dhcp. Why?

A DHCP Reservation is a permanent IP address assignment. It is a specific IP address within a DHCP scope that is permanently reserved for leased use to a specific DHCP client.
You can configure a DHCP reservation in your DHCP server when you need to reserve a permanent IP address assignment. You can use these reservations for DHCP-enabled devices like print and file servers or other application servers which always have the fixed IP address on a network.
To configure a DHCP reservation, follow the steps provided below:

Step 1:
Access the router's web-based setup page. For instructions, click here.
NOTE: To learn how to access the web-based setup page on a Mac computer, click here.
Step 2:
Click Setup > Basic Setup.

Step 3:
Make sure that the DHCP Server option is Enabled. Click the DHCP Reservation button if you want to assign a fixed local IP address to a MAC address.

Step 4:
When you click on DHCP Reservation, a new web browser window will pop-up. Click the Select checkbox to reserve a client's IP address. Click the Add Clients button afterwards.

kb17362-003_en.png Step 5:
If you want to manually assign an IP address, enter the client's host name in the Enter Client Name field. You can do this as well in the IP Address and MAC address fields.
Step 6:
Click the Add button.

Step 7:
A list of DHCP clients and their fixed local IP addresses will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. If you want to remove a client from this list, click the Remove button.

Printer not receiving information from computer

I guess you mean the c350 is not printing while Windows said the job has been sent? If so, it may have changed IP Address from the time you first install the Printer on Windows. Check the Ports setting of the c350 printer! e.g. d53b002.jpg
Network Pritners should have Static IP address or at least a reserved DHCP IP Address. Logon to your Router, check the MAC Address of the c350 and reserve/assign it a IP Address near the end of the DHCP range. Save the Router configuration and power cycle the c350. Confirm IP Address changed to the reserved IP.

Then you have to change all the PC's Printer Configuration of the c350's Port to update the reserved/assigned IP. Or remove the c350 from Printers and Faxes, then run the printer setup software again.

ISA 2004 - DHCP + MAC Address

This would need to be configured on whatever system it is that is serving DHCP. Assuming it is the same box as ISA Server, it would then have to be running Microsoft DHCP. In Microsoft's DHCP, you can assign reservations for specific MAC addresses. You need to open the DHCP management console, then expand out the server name. If the server name is not listed, you will need to connect to the server hosting the DHCP service by right clicking on the root node, etc.

Assuming you have a connection to the DHCP server and can see the zone you are referring to (172.16.2.0/23 which contains all addresses in the subnet to which you refer), under the zone, right click on Reservations and choose New Reservation. Enter a name, the specific IP address for that machine and the MAC address. That's all there is to it. Next time that machine requests an address from the DHCP server, it will issue the address you configured. It will not issue it to any other machine.

What DHCP capability does the P310 support?

The Prestige 310 supports DHCP client on the WAN port and DHCP server on the LAN port. The Prestige's DHCP client allows it to get the Internet IP address from ISP automatically. The Prestige's DHCP server allows it to automatically assign IP and DNS addresses to the clients on the local LAN.
