Unfortunately it is a fairly involved procedure, one of the more complex I?ve seen for a newer laptop. If you don?t have prior experience, tools and some nerve I?d suggest you take it to a shop. Some of the more challenging parts you are going to remove are the keyboard, the top half of the case, the wireless card and some of the wiring harness. -Remove the battery pack, any PCMCIA cards, the optical drive and the hard drive. -Open the laptop and carefully pry the keyboard holder (thin piece of plastic at the top of the keyboard. Toshiba has a special tool for this but in times past I have been able to successfully remove other Satellite Pro series keyboards with a plastic probe. Once that is off remove the two retention screws at the top of the keyboard, carefully disconnect the cable and remove the keyboard. -With the keyboard removed you will see the wireless card torx security screw at the top just to the left of center. Remove it, the cover plate and the card underneath. In order to remove the card you will also have to disconnect the white and black coax leads. When removing and reassembling note that these connectors are really small and fragile. -Flip the laptop over and remove all 15 screws. There are three different types so mark down where they go for reassembly later. -At the rear of the computer you will find 2x screws, one to the right of the VGA connector and the other in-between the serial and lpt1 port; remove them as well. -You will have to disconnect several leads and wire harnesses in order to lift off the top half of the case. -Once the case is removed the RTC battery is in the lower right hand corner. -Now all you have to do is reassemble the laptop and test. Good luck and don?t forget to rate this post.

SOURCE: toshiba satellite a40-s270 won't turn on

Either the power supply is not working or the battery has failed and will not hold a charge. If the laptop is 3 or more years old, the battery is the likely suspect.

SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite P30 (new) Battery (and old) not charging

1. You will need to check the power adapter it may have lost it's ability to send a charge to the board.
2. Also the connector to the PC may be damaged and the solder joint at the mother board may have cracked or damaged.
3. Check also that you have the battery completely snapped in place.
4. check the contacts on the battery itself.
5. You PC may need service.

Toshiba satellite l300 not charging, doesnt work on the power supply

Try removing the battery completely and running it with the power supply connected. If that doesn't work, try borrowing a compatible power supply, or buy a universal one, and try with and without the battery connected.
The problem may be the power supply, in which case the battery won't charge and the laptop won't get any power.

Toshiba Satellite M300 won't detect power when running, will only detect it and charge battery when turned off.

If there is no problem with the battery(does it hold a full charge?) or power cabling (unnatural bunching inside the plastic sheath, frayed wires etc), then the power adapter is not providing enough current to run and charge your laptop battery at the same time. This would suggest a hardware issue with your power adapter, consider replacing it.

My Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 works fine if I use a battery charged on an identical machine, with the same mains charger. With the mains charger plugged in it either shows 'plugged in not charging' or...

It sounds like the connector from the A/C adapter to the motherboard is loose or the inside of the adapter plug that attaches to the motherboard is defective.

When I turn on my Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 nothing happens. The power(DC) and battery indicator lights are both ON but the screen remain black and hardly any vibration to show any device booting

1. you may have a non functioning adapter and it is not charging the battery
2. You may have a defective battery that needs replacement.
3.To see if the battery is defective take it to a laptop service tech to check with a new battery and have him also check the power adapter.

"Plugged in, not charging", Toshiba Satellite A135 S4527, under Windows Vista Home Premium

It sounds like the power socket on the laptop is faulty and needs replacing or resoldering. To check this, power up the latop with the power adapter, wriggle the plug in the power socket and check if the battery charge indicator flicks on and off indicating charging and not charging. If it indicator flicks on and off then you have a faulty power socket.
This can be repaired but required the laptop to be completely dismantled to access the power connector.
