Yes, those are called ghost lines and are caused by faulty buffer circuits - the circuits that directly command the pixels. The buffers are situated on the Driver boards - in your case, since the lines are vertical, on the Y-driver board. The fact that they have just appeared and the fault gets worse is a clear sign that the circuits from the Y-driver board are dying = you must replace the board as a whole. Here it is

Pixels on a plasma TV are from the zustain boards. You might have one or both of them about to go out. Horizontal lines are most likelly one of your buffers or the screen itself might be going bad. You can buy the sustain boards by part number that you can get from the board itself from www.interliquidparts.com

You have a bad panel. Will be cheaper to buy a new TV than to replace panel.
Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.
