Seems like a big problems you got there...

I reccomened re-formatting your drive to fat32 (for windows users) and giving it a second try.

I had the saem trouble a while back with my iPod Video 60gb and noticed that it was storing huge amounts of data that wasnt meant to be there. After the reformat it all worked again.

You also sure its not a full drive? because my Q-Be used to say "file error" on a full drive (vista bug)

---Give reformatting a go though.

Sounds like the player needs to be reformatted. Make sure your mp3 player is fully charged and then go to Sony's help site for your player:

My AMT mp3 doesn't load

I just got one. Cute little thing at a cheap price. Plug it in and my virus checker wants to delete the program. Tell it that the program is OK and to leave it alone. In XP it put two drives on my system - a AMT CDROM drive and an AMT MP3 drive. Ignore the CDROM drive, at least at first, and copy your music files to the MP3 drive. The key to making it play does seem to be holding down the play button while flipping the power switch to ON. Having it on or off when unplugging from the computer does not seem to matter.Who knows how long to charge it at first?

Skipping wont play

The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes ,format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player tiself.
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
You may also want to check
http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=25
for any firm updates - the above procedures in some cases undo the original formatting on the player, and a firmware upgrade will be required to replace the Mp3 player's formatting.

My Ilo 1GB Player isn't playing songs correctly...

The songs are in the wrong format

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
