Assuming you mean you're updating the system on your PHONE, then you have two options.

OPTION 1:
Using ActiveSync (Windows 2000/XP or Mac) or the Vista Device Center, simply attach your phone via USB to your computer. If Outlook is installed, the contacts should automatically be saved onto the computer. Just verify by opening outlook on your PC and clicking 'contacts.'
You can then go ahead with your phone update. Once you're finished, reattach the device to have all the contacts copied back from your computer to your phone.

OPTION 2:
My personal choice, is to use a small program called PIM Backup. copy the program over to your SD card and run it to save all your contacts into a hard file you can transfer to any phone.
In addition to saving contacts, you can also save text messages, emails, phone logs, etc.
Get it here: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-pim-backup-v2-8.html

Hi there I'm trying to update my Soniq tv because it's that far out of date it won't let me check for updates

Eventually the updates stop as the hardware becomes dated to any new software version. The idea is that you update the television.

How to transfer contacts from 306g to pc???

There is an option to export the contacts to the sd card.
Tap the contacts icon.
tap menu
look for import/export contacts
Tap export to sd card
you can select all or just the ones you want.
tap export then yes.
It will transfer them to a .vcf file and at that point you can transfer it to your pc via bluetooth or usb. You could also take the sd card out and use a card reader to get the file off. You will need a micro sd card adapter or a card reader that will accept that standard of card.
If you do not have a micro sd card ( look under the battery cover or on the sides for a small slot with a black card in it.) you will have to do the bluetooth or usb transfer.

Does iphone 4 have sd cards

No. The only card you can insert in any iPhone is the sim card. You should buy a iPhone with enough memory for all the apps you want to use and for all the content, like notes, music, contact list and so on.
Although the iPhone used to come with 8 Gbyte is is really not enough as soon as you start to put apps and music on it.
New phones should have at least 32 G Byte.
But if you plan tu use a phone for a few years at least, take the 64 G byte. That goes for the android phones too. Because even when you can enter a 32 G byte memory card in an android. It will not be an extension of the main memory. You can't install apps or access lists of contacts as long as the are on the extra memory card. It is more like a had drive, from which you need to cpu the content to the main memory first, before you can use it.

I would like to get the latest australian map updates for a Trax 353 if thats possible. Can I download the latest maps off the internet onto an SD card and install it into my trax 353.

hi Joe Peckham you need to download the latest from uniden on to you computer. You can copy the download on to the SD card as a file. in order to do the download on the SD card back on to the Trax 353 see if you can upload files from the SD card. Because it has been my experience that you may need to transfer the file download and copy it into a different file type on the SD card. If you still have the getting started tips and tricks man. See what it says about reading files from SD card. My suggestion use a a 4GB SD card. with nothing on it this way you can erase the SD card and Start fresh. Hope this helps. Also btw read the SD card on your computer first to see if the file downloaded.

My gsp only has a sd card no usb slot so how do i transfer the update to my gps Thanks

Depending on the type of GPS you have, you have a few options...

If the update instructs you to put the update files on the SD card, you need a means for your computer to access the SD card. This can be done by using an USB SD card reader, which can be picked up at your local electronics, digital photography store or online.

If you have another device that allows the transfer of data between a computer and the device (and it uses SD cards), you can put the SD card for you GPS into your other device, connect it to the computer through USB, and transfer the update files. For example, if your digital camera uses an SD card, you could put the GPS SD card into the camera, and then connect the camera to the computer.

Make sure you're updating correctly - sometimes the update is a file you run on your PC that in turn transfers files through a different means onto the GPS. Read the manual for your GPS for more information regarding transferring files onto the GPS and updating.

I own an omron HCG-801 and have taken several ecg readings but cannot figure out how to transfer them to the PC in a way they can be read ian McKinnon

Hi,
For copping the ecgs to your computer you need a SD card reader.
Please follow these instructions to copy data from the SD memory card to a PC.

1. Remove the SD card from the machine after switching off it.

2. Make sure the PC is equipped with an SD memory card port or connect a commercially available SD memory card reader/writer to your PC.

3. Create a new folder on your PC where you want to save a copy of the ECG data.

4. Insert the SD memory card in the card reader and browse to the SD memory card data

5. Select all files and copy them in the folder you have created earlier (step 2).

6. When copying is finished, remove the SD memory card.

For analysis ECGs that are copied to your PC, you need PC analysis software (providing databasing and printing tools). Normally the software CD comes with the machine. if you dont have the same you have to contact the manufacturer. Only through that software you will be able to read the ECGs in your pc.
If you need any more assistance from me feel free to contact through fixya.
