Why does the belt keeps comming off - Dirt Devil Breeze Bagged Upright

Did you 'replace the belt 2 times' with a new one? If they stretch, they can come off.

Hello! Your belt will need to be replaced about twice a year. If your belt is breaking within a couple uses of you changing it, you may not have the correct belt for your vacuum. Double check the owner's manual or Hoover.com to verify the belt number for your vacuum. Always replace the belt with a genuine Hoover belt. Hope this helped!

Need to replace both drive and roller brush belt. Can't just replace one even if the other is fairly new.

Hello! There is no other part that goes on the motor shaft after the belt is put on. The tension of the belt keeps the belt from slipping off. If you have a brand new belt that keeps slipping off you may not have the correct belt for the vacuum. Be sure you replace with a genuine Dirt Devil belt and the specified belt style for your particular unit. Hope this helps! The belt is stretched and you simply just need to replace it. You can get the belts you need for this model here:

There is nothing but the motor shaft. The belt rides on the shaft and around the brush assembly on the other end. The belts fail if the brush assembly gets jammed, for example from a rug ot debris. If this occurs you should immediately turn off the unit,unplug the power cord, and clear the jam. Also occasionally cleaning the brush and being sure the bearings on each end turn freely will help prolong belt life. The brush assemblies also look to be available. [email protected]

but it keeps kicking belt off the spindle there is nothing to hold it on

On the Hoover and probable on the Fantom it sounds to me like you have a broken motor mount and it needs replacing on both machines. I have a Kirby Sentra and have had problems since I bought it a few years ago with burning up belts. I go through at least two a month. What is wrong with it? I keep the roller clean each time I vacuum.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Some Kirby vacuum in the brushroll have bushings and some have bearings and the bushing bind up and do not spin properly and I suggest to replace your brushroll with a genuine Kirby belts and brushroll of which would work the best for you performance wise. A suggested belt change depending on carpet can be every 3 to 4 months or 4 to 6 months and the brushroll when needed, some carpets are ******* the belts and they do require change more frequently. The rest should be fine. Keep replacing belt that drives

Keep replacing belt that drives brusher but keeps breaking. When feel belt driver rod it is superheated.....could it be melting into the stretched belt causing it to weaken?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Depending on the brand name and model # it is my opinion that it is not the belt, it may be that your brushroll is bound up with thread, hair, dirt, etc., and is not spinning well – place the brushroll on end and try to spin it, if it does not spin freely, then you are bound up, try to clean it up and lubricate by using one drop of oil and then wipe off the excess, you don’t want the oil to hit your carpet, if that does not work replace the brush and the new belt, am average flat belt change is every 4 to 6 months – also you may have the wrong size belt of which would cause the to burn up fast. Always use the genuine vacuum belts when replacing.

How do you take apart?
How do you take apart a Hoover brush n wash to replace the belt?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
On a Hoover brushroll there are 2 types, wood and metal, and the metal can be washed with water and the wood should only be wiped off, knowing the name brand of the vacuum most of the vacuums the belt change is done by removing the bottom plate and exposing the belt, 1st hook the new belt around the brushroll and then use a screwdriver or similar with a bent hook on the end and then pull or hook the belt on to the motor pulley and then track the belt to make sure the belt stays on, then re-install the bottom plate and turn the vacuum on to test to see id the belt was installed correctly. The other is to look for 2 or 4 screws on the bottom and then remove the top cover and follow the instruction listed above without the bottom plate. A belt change should be done every 4 to 6 months on regular basics and to keep the belts in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.
