The only thing inside a microwave oven that draws enough current to blow a fuse is the magnetron that generates the microwaves to provide the cooking power. Based on the age of the unit (approx 15 years) it is most likely best to just replace it as repairs at that level are not cost effective. Newer units cook better and faster using less power these days.

Could be a fuse..
Could be a heating eliment..
A way to check the eliment is -- remove the exuast hose.. Put a mirror to see inside the hole.. Whenrunning the eliment should glow hot..
Did the electrical service power go out, or did the display on the oven go out? If it was the display, then make certain the breakers didn't trip or fuses blow feeding power to the unit. If they are both good, and the display is still not lighting up, the unit may have blown a thermal fuse, usually located near the control head. This failure could be caused by a number of things (it happened that my KitchenAid had a service bulletin and modification kit to replace the blowers and reroute the wiring).
