P0308 OBD II Trouble Code The link may help in explaining the P0 308 code. Unfortunately, these trouble codes do not pin point the problem or fault precisely, so further diagnostics are usually required. If the vehicle has not been serviced or tuned up for a long time, that may be a good starting point.
PO308 indicates a misfire on cylinder 8. Hopefully, it is inexpensive to repair.
Check the spark plug wire for age, wear or damage. If the vehicle has one coil, check the distributor cap and rotor.
Check the ignition coil, if it is an ignition system with a coil for every cylinder(distributor less) (8 coils).
Check the spark plug for age, worn electrode or excessive carbon deposits.
If no wear, cracks or damage to the ignition components, a compression test on cylinder 8 is in order. It could be a head gasket or valve leak or intake manifold leak. Spray carburetor cleaner in the area of cylinder 8, a check for a change in engine idle.
