Acer aspire 5100 bios recovery

Sorry for my bad English (I’m from Bosnia). I tried bios update from windows with original new bios from acer site.
When I run update it starts and everything seemed fine but it stop and show blue screen.
Result is when I power on laptop, I hear fun all the time, hard disk for a couple of seconds, and it tries to read CDROM but screen remains black. I assume that it tries to read and recover bios from CD. Question is what to put on it.
I have tried many combinations of bios files, recovery CD-s…, Hardware bios rest by removing battery…
Please help me to create recovery disc or suggest any other solution. I’ve read many articles and posts allover the net but neither of them solve my problem because they are not write about my specific model of laptop.

Check your CD for the Aspire it may contain the orignal bios .bin file and flash program. Nothing on Acer's site will load for me other than the two main pages. But I did find another web site if your willing to try it. http://driverscollection.com/?file_id=38429

SOURCE: Boot sequence / bios password issues with Acer Aspire 5100

for removing bios password you must have to remove cimos bettery for few mnuts but for doing this you have to open case of laptop
and it is not adviceable because your notebook is new one
so find any service station if yor laptop is in warranty period or you may lose your warranty
there isn't any other way to clear cmos without opening case of your laptop and remove cmos bettery
unless you will get cmos password but as u said you didn't put password in your laptop it might be possible that your notebook manufacture him self had put any password in cmose as a company policy
in that case also you must have to go to them

The finger print bull is how that password came up for me and they want a 125.00 to remove it. I called the better business bureau and filed a complaint. They shouldn't have any right to control your laptop. I to have a 6292 , took it apart as far as I could and could not find jumper or password. This is a gimmick to make money.

Acer Aspire One is prone to BIOS failure which causes it to not do anything exept to show the charging LED. At your own risk, the method to fix the BIOS failure can be found by clicking on the following link.

How do I take my Acer Aspire 5100 back to its factory settings?

Here is the standard Acer Recovery Instructions

1. Power on the machine
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
4. Click “OK” to continue
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).

I'm trying to load windows 7 on acer 5100 and everything went well but it went back to bio.

Go to acer/global support and get the bios update for windows 7 because right now your bios are probably for VISTA:( Once you flash them reboot and you should be able to go straight into win7

Reinstalled windows xp profesional after hd crash. Did not have the original acer aspie 5100 recovery disc to install. Now the cd dvd rom is not recognised by laptop

if you originally had Vista on then the bios is updated from the older XP bios and wont see the drive, check here for bios downloads, or put Vista back on.

If you have a full XP disc you will need to do a full format and installation, do not use somebody elses restore disc as it's not the complete windows that you will need.

My Acer aspire 5100

If you are able, when the pc is booting up keep pressing F8, this will take you to safe mode and not allow the graphics driver to run. When in the safe mode options, select either Last known good configuration or start windows in safe mode. Last known good configuration should find the last good system settings, when it reboots. Start windows in safe mode allows you to go into windows using the administartor account, and then you should select system restore and restore back to the day before or just before you updated the graphics driver.
