If it sounds like it wants to but doesnt, like you can hear the motor but it is locked up, here is a way to fix it.look at seat and see if it looks sort of cocked and you may have to straighten the seat by keeping rod in one side or other and spinning it until seat is straight. there are 2 flexy cables that run side to side and cause the seat to move. they usually have a black plastic coating on them.remove them both. with both off hit switch and see if you hear the motors. If so you should lubricate tracks with silicone spray or spray grease.put cables back into holes and it should work.the cable may give you a lil trouble coming out but just pull back and forth they wont break

Had same problem with 2005
the plastic moulded cover around the control on side of the seat was loose and inhibited the switch movement. Tightened the screws holding panel in place and switch reumed resumed to normal operation

2003 GMCC ENVOY I SLID THE PASSENGER SEAT ALL THE WAY FOWARD AND IT WILL NOT GO BACKWARD IS THERE A WAY TO MANUALLY MOVE THE SEAT BACK?

You have to take the motor off and use one of the flex shafts in an electric drill. Lube the track with wd40 before doing that to see if the seat will move before you take out the motor.

Why a 2003 gmc envoy, seat on driver side will not go up in front.

The switches that operate the seat is the first place to look. Lack of lubrication on the seat mechanism will stall the motor too.

I have a 2005 gmc envoy and the driver seat gets hot

There may be a stuck relay Stuck in the "On" position. A relay is a remote switch that does the heavier work of a smaller or more delicate switch. It is probably under the seat but if you have "memory" seats that move the power seats back and forth it is probably the control box causing the problem. It has relays inside it.
