SOURCE: need part number for the bobbin on a singer model

I had been using class 66 but have had bobbin problems for 6 years. I was told a week ago that I should be using class 15 (but still having the same problems). Not sure if that helps or not.

Singer sewing machine timing adjustment

This is an often asked question. Also, you didn't mention which model you have. Regardless, I always answer that with another question, and that is--why do you think the timing needs adjusting?

The tension is off on my model 3962. What should I do the manual says to set the control know to "auto" it only goes from zero to four and then a black dot. Also what is the dial on the right side of the...

Well, one is the stitch length control (top) and one is the stitch selector (underneath it). I have never seen you machine; I found it out by download the instruction manual free from the Singer site, and you can too. I highly recommend it.

On page 19, it discusses tension settings.

Singer 3962

What you are looking for is a zipper foot. However, it is probably not the best foot for sewing garments. A wider foot actually applies more surface pressure to the fabric and feed dogs and pulls the fabric through evenly.

Bobbin thread getting caught

Check your Instruction manual - if you have taken the bobbin case apart to clean it, the shuttle must be reinserted with the little tab pressing against the piece you mention. It is under page 45 - "Caring for your machine" in my book. I missed it the first time I cleaned and oild mine.
