I have an opportunity to purchase from a private party a nearly new mastercool unit. They went with AC instead. This is an updraft unit and I need to know if I could convert it to a side draft unit. Can the squirrell cage be rotated within the unit. Cap off the updraft opening and cut out an opening to convert to a sidedraft? Maybe there is a conversion kit available? Are there any other problems with conversion that I wouldn't know about. Thanks for your time and consideration.
Yes, you can convert it to side draft by using 90 degree ducting from the opening. I am assuming that you want to vent it throuh a wall. Actually, with a little ingenuity you could cut a hole in the end of the unit and turn the squirrel cage 90 degrees then cover the old hole with a piece of shee metal. You can also convert an up draft to a downdraft by unbolting the wet section of the cooler and turning it 180 degrees and rebolting with the same four bolts. I have even done this with an old Champion 4 sided cooler (turned it upside down) then closing off three of the sides and fabricating some sheetmetal to accomodate a 12" thick Mastercool pad.
Just do some brainstorming. You can do a lot to change the configuration of these coolers.Yes, you can convert it to side draft by using 90 degree ducting from the opening. Condensate pumps dont work with the thermostat . The pump has an internal float switch that kicks the pump on when the water reach a high level. If the pump failed for any reason the safety swicht will turn off the ac unit to prevent any water overflow.
clean and service the cooler. remove the filters and gently wash them with a garden hose. isolate the power to the unit and wipe components with a damp cloth
Go to the Mastercool web site: http://www.mastercool.com/pages/vacuum_pumps.html
Pick out your model number and then click on "instructions" to download a manual. The most important thing is to change the oil frequently. This unit is used in HVAC to draw a vacuum on an evacuated AC system after repairs were made to insure it is free of any condensables.
If shut down at end of season by air con person may be switched off in roof unit. just remove one side and should have switch in unit usually near pump
Any technician should be able to wire a universal relay into your system, I am assuming that you are talking about the contactor on your outside unit... if not then it could be the board inside the air handler, but that usually only controls the indoor blower and heating section...
If you got this machine from a sewing machine dealer, shame on them for not describing how to handle this issue.
When you open your Disk Manager USB application to add designs, first read the stick. This will take all of the designs into Disk Manager. Now you may select where you want the new designs to be added and you can delete old ones that you don't want on the stick any longer. Now, write to the stick. Yes, all designs will be erased, but read them first so they will be written back onto the stick.
If you are into computers you may understand fragmentation of the hard drive and the need to occasionally defrag. By erasing the stick and rewriting it each time, we avoid fragmentation and maximize the storage space on the stick.
By the way, if you purchased your machine on-line or through a private party you should check with your local dealers and see if one of them may have an adoption service. Some dealers frown on private sales of machines, but some of us see it as an opportunity to get a new person interested in what we do. There will usually be some type of fee for receiving the same services that a dealer offers to customers who purchase in their store. It never hurts to check around.
How long have you had the system? Did you purchase from USNV or private party? If from USNV why not call them up and send it in for repair. If from private party,,,,,that's the chance you take. Sounds like you have either a failing power supply or an electrical short somewhere. In any event the system should be looked at by somebody who knows about night vision. If purchased within the past 2 years it will still be under warranty.
