How do you record a t.v. show using the VCR on a Sanyo DVW-6100 combo?

I figure it's probably just a channel mishap but I can't seem to figure it out. We have DirectTV.

Use a "1-to-2" splitter on the cable between the output from the Direct TV box and your TV. Connect 1 of the 2 to your TV.
Connect the other cable to your VCR.

SOURCE: sanyo dvd/vcr combo

Your universal remote would have seperate selection buttons for VCR and DVD. If you don't have a VCR button, use AUX. Try programming each function seperately - DVD code for your manufactirer on the DVD button and VCR code for your manufacturer on the VCR button.

SOURCE: I have lost the remote

You may not be able to buy a replacement original remote for it, but a universal remote may work - it is then a matter of code (if needed) to operate most of the basic functions of your combo. You could always look on eBay amazon, or ask your local store about the universal remote. Logitech are the best universal remotes on the market - these range from basic types to all-in-one, with the price of each varying. You should be able to buy something like that locally (similar brand to Logitech which will serve the same purpose) - if Sanyo won't put an order for the original remote in for you.

Yes those players sell for around $399 depending on the source. You can google your brand and model # and put prices at the end and it will search for different sources and different prices.

Hooking my dvd/vcr up to my television.

Easy Answer! connect to composite cabels to the ports underneath the words "DVD/VCR Out" for a Coaxial, use either the component ports or connect a coaxial cable from the port labled RF Out to the one on your television.

Hd tv to vcr

What model and manufacturer DVD/VCR combo are you using. if it has a HDMI port, you should buy a HDMI cable to your combo player than to your HDTV (most don't have this High Definition port.) 6f3606c.jpg
otherwise, it probably contains a composite port, connect the red to the red (Left) white to white (mono) and yellow to yellow (Video) than connect the wires to the matching port on your HDTV) then switch the input to AV or Composite. 9701d83.jpgb5e3eb0.jpg

If this fails, you need a coaxial cable.85dec5e.jpgconnect a coaxial cable to your player then to the coaxial port on your tv. change the input to "either Coaxial, Cable 3 or any input that sets it to coaxial input.
