If you;re sure its under the toilet, look for a crack in the base, especially around the retianing bolts, or the wax bowl seal is gone, needs replacing.

SOURCE: Increase water in toilet tank-low flush Toto toilet

Yes adjust the float level to raise the amount of water in the tank, If you have a float that is a ball around the tank you will have to turn the water off and remove the hose from the tank and remove the nut then pull the water float device out and you will see a clap on the bottom of the float you will turn the float base so that it gets longer, increase it by two inchess so that you increase water flow. Reinstall into the tank hook it all back up and leave the lid off turn on the water and watch the water level rise be sure the float shuts the water off before it over flows, if it starts to over flow then fush it to bring the water down giving you enought time to shut off the water valve.
There is a problem adding low water systems to older septic systems. The septic pipe settles in the ground over time and may cause a ~~~ in the pipe thus causeing blockage. For future reference you can add a one gallon bottle of water in the tank like a milk jug or a used up bottle of puerified water that you have drank and this will decrease it by one gallon per flush. Hope this helps. If you need more asstance just posttothis reply!

SOURCE: I have a new Kohler

Basically, if water is flowing out of the overflow tube, then water must be coming in...I would suggest that you check the intake valve, it is probably not shutting off completely when the float comes up to the prescribed level, and continues to leak some water into the tank. That is what the overflow tube is there for.

Toilet leak Toilet sometimes leaks down the drain. No water on the floor. I can hear it dripping. Put food coloring in the tank and no color in the bowl over night.

There will never be a dripping sound from the bowl unless there is water on the floor indicating a cracked bowl or a gasket has lived its life and needs replacing . The flush kit could drip though, Most likely an indication to adjust the level of the float or perhaps even replace the kit altogether, Never hearing the tank fill up is not related to dripping.

Re. Duravit Happy D toilet (tank No. 0929100005)

Remove and clean the flush valve and the flush valve seat(it is the flap that opens up to allow water to flush the toilet). Once the edges of the valve and the seat are cleaned, possibly with "0000" grit bulldog steel wool, it should not leak anymore. To make sure it is not leaking, once tank has refilled completely, put some food die in the tank. If, after 10-15 minutes, the water in the toilet bowl is colored, you have a leak from the flush valve. Replacing the flush valve is very easy - just bring the old one with you to the hardware/plumbing store and ask for a replacement. Blessings and good luck!!

Running Toilet

Sounds like your flush valve is shot. They are not that expensive and can be easily replaced.

Overtime the rubber in the flush valves break down and need to be replaced. Easier to replace the entire valve than fix the old one.

Opal 2000 toilet suite, water leaking from around bedding cement. Have marked water level in cistern and bowl with marker and there is no change, water would appear to be coming when toilet is flushed like...

check the donut seal which seals the cistern to the pan, they perish and leak when the toilet is flushed, water runs down back of pan to floor you can check this by drying/wiping with tissue back of pan and flushing you will see if any moisture is running down there by wiping again with tissue and seeing if it is damp.

Toiliet Drips in bowl for a while after you flush

Check flapper out and adjust water level in tank to proper level. If you get level right and it still does drip it sounds like the flapper is not sealing correctly to shut off water.

Toilet flappers are not to expensive and you can touch it with your hand and if you get a black residue off on your hands that a sign it needs replacing.

I've just fitted a Nabis breeze and am having flushing problems.

Well many toilets flush very high before flushing, they appear to almost overflow, but if that doesn't seem like your problem, I would recommend adjusting the float on the Fluid-master fill valve so that there is less water in the tank when it flushes.

Shortly after toilet flushes, you hear a tinkling sound for several seconds, as if water dripping inside. Sometimes also hear another sound like flushing even though toilet is done running,

Check the water level inside the tank to be sure the tank isn't overfilling and spilling into the overflow tube.

Also check the flapper valve (the rubber valve at the bottom of the tank that sits over the flush hole and is connected to the flush handle) to be sure it is holding and not leaking.

Make sure the handle chain that goes to the flapper valve isn't tangled up and holding the flapper valve partially open.
