How do I open the iLuv iSP200 chassis?

The power supply input jack is intermittent and needs to be repaired. If I can open it, I can fix it.

When looking at the front of the unit. The metal grill has 4 crimped tension points on top, 4 on the bottom, and 2 on each side (total of 12). Use a small flat screwdriver to gently pry them forward, I just gently pulled on the top four, starting at one end and working towards the other. Then gently lift the grill off.
Then there are 8 P1 (#1 Phillips) screws on the front. There are also 2 Phillips screws on the bottom, 1 under each of the rubbery feet.
Once they are all removed (10 screws in total) the unit simply opens in 2 halves.

Hope this helps.

How to get to the input jack on a bugera 62/62 amp head.

Repairing the input jack on your Bugera 6262 amp head is a task that requires careful attention and technical expertise. If you're comfortable with electronics and have experience working with amplifiers, you can follow these general steps to access and repair the input jack. However, please note that working on high-voltage electronics can be dangerous, and if you're not confident in your abilities, it's best to seek professional assistance.
  1. Safety Precautions:
    • Disconnect the Power: Ensure that the amplifier is completely unplugged from the power source before you begin any work. This is crucial to prevent electric shock.
  2. Gather Tools:
    • You'll need a set of screwdrivers (Phillips and flat-head) appropriate for the screws used in the amplifier's casing.
    • A soldering iron and soldering supplies (solder, desoldering braid, etc.) for working on the input jack connections.
  3. Opening the Amp:
    • Remove the screws holding the amplifier's chassis in the enclosure. These screws are usually located on the rear panel or sometimes underneath the amp. Keep track of the screws and their locations.
  4. Accessing the Input Jack:
    • Once the chassis is removed from the enclosure, you should have access to the internal components of the amplifier. Look for the input jack and its connections on the PCB (printed circuit board).
  5. Repairing the Input Jack:
    • Carefully examine the input jack's connections. If you see any loose or broken solder joints, you'll need to re-solder them. Use a soldering iron to heat the solder joint and apply a small amount of new solder if necessary.
  6. Testing and Reassembly:
    • After repairing the input jack connections, it's a good idea to test the amp's functionality before fully reassembling it. Plug in your instrument and ensure that the input jack is working as expected.
  7. Reassembling the Amp:
    • Once you've confirmed that the input jack is functioning properly, carefully reassemble the amplifier. Make sure to secure all screws and components properly.

Can the iLuv iSP160 mini speakers be opened to glue a loose speaker inside?

You could try the Warranty on them.

https://www.iluv.com/pages/warranty

Usually you need a tool called a 'Spudger' to pop secret seam catches apart. Or, there are hidden screws under rubber feet. Generally though, speakers of this quality are not repairable and are a disposable commodity.

Bang and Olufsen 1980s Sound System. Broken input jacks for turntable. Broken Tape deck. Local repairers say they can't repair it because no spares

You will have to pay for the labor, if it's just truly broken RCA phono jacks, you can have them replaced by any ham radio guy or electronics guy with a soldering iron. It won't look perfect, but it will work just fine if it's only the jacks and not the switching circuitry. Radio Shack even carries (carried) single RCA chassis mount jacks to fix this.

Feedback overpowers amp output...I have fixed my guitars, fixed and replaced chords, tried other amps, tried other guitars, and nothing seems to fix the problem...If there a way to switch polarity on this...

Hi there. If there is still feedback with nothing plugged into the amp, the problem is internal to the amp. Probably worn input jack or intermittent connector internal. Try thumping on amp with nothing hooked up. (guitar)
Thanks

Intermittent power on 52" RCA TV

This is the ITC 222 chassis. Most likely the problem is caused by capacitors on the power supply module part# 265324 which is no longer available. The module has to be repaired to the component level. Look for capacitors that are bulged at the top. I usually get around $250 for that repair (Carry In Only). There are also other causes but someone would have to troubleshoot the problem.

Peavey keyboard amp--Hum takes over all operation

Hi There,
Hum can come from all sorts of places in an audio amp system......
The shielding on the input cables may be broken.
An earth somewhere can be broken....which then allows "ground loops" to form and unbalances the earthing...causing HUM....

Your note about reducing the controls to zero and the hum is still there leads me to believe that the power filter capacitors or some other filter capacitor in the DC supplies have dried out.
Capacitors can also go "open" which can cause low level sound and HUM.

The motto is "Capacitors get "old" and cause hums"....
It looks like its time for a full service....the amp has done you very well over the years and its like anything else needs a service now and then to maintian the quality of sound expected...If there is one capacitor showing you its getting "HUMMY" then there will be others in there as well needing replacement....

High heat can kill an amplifier so while its getting a check over there will be checks for other problems in there as well..Hot running resistors which can dry out adjacent Capacitors...

Cheers for now YUBEUT
