You have the usual nVidia graphics chip failure. Call HP or email them, you may qualify under the recall program and get it replaced for free. If they won't replace it, take apart your laptop (service manuals are available on HP's site, with a bit of patience you can do it yourself, or ask someone else) and send your motherboard for reflow. Reflowing the board will cost about $60, it's certainly cheaper than buying a new motherboard that will fail in the same way.
To prolong its life after reflow it is recommended to put a copper shim and thermal paste between the graphics chip and the cooler, instead of the thick and poor quality thermal pad that they put there. In fact that is the main reason why the chips fail - they don't actually break, they detach from the motherboard.
this is what that code means i dont think you will have much luck fixing it yourself tho: E74: I/O Hardware Error - HSIO related, could be crc error, or
many things: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA"
or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a
faulty AV cable so check that first. Microsoft covers this error under
their 3-year warranty, this is availble to anyone who hasn't modified
their console. contact MS to get a free replacement console before
attempting to fix this yourself. Failing that this error In some cases
it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp
replacement (see error 0102)
It helps to know what kind of car you have even the year makes a difference GM cars with the chip in the key have two small white wires coming off the lock cylinder that break. Then you need a lock cylinder rekeyed to your old key. The code is in the chip. Newer GM cars can go though a security reset that involves turning the key on for 5 minuetes or more after a try to crank and the light goes out then turn the key off wait a second or two and turn it back on, the light will come on , in about the same amount of time the light will go out and again turn the key off then back on light on wait again then this time when the light goes out turn it off then back on and start the car the light will come on and the cars running with out a security proble it'll go right back out . This will happen if the car doesnt reconize the key and repeated attemps are made to start the car with the wrong key that just happens to turn the lock. As you found out if you try it enought with the right key it'll start and the light will stay on
