Look for a mechanical switch that engages the lower drive mechanism.

My Brother PC 8200 was doing an embroidery pattern and suddenly sped up and went crazy! I can't get it to stop sewing motion except to turn all power off. Stop/Start button is red but non-responsive

*Grin* I use to have this machine! It's a very old machine and may not be worth repairing. *tear* It sounds like the on/off switch is broken and un-responsive. The "Sped up and went crazy", part sounds Motherboard related. You never know; take it to a Authorized Brother repair shop motherboard....

I have a Brother PC-8200 embroidery sewing machine. Last week I had done some embroidering then changed to straight sewing but couldn't get the tension to adjust. Took it in for repairs, and the...

That's a tough call, parts can be pretty high to fix a machine. Have looked around to price out a new embroidery machine, Janome makes some very nice one in that price range. I'd try ebay there is one which is missing the foot control and hoops for $250.00 just search Brother Pacesetter PC-8200 this may be the ticket you already have the foot control and hoops.

Best of luck

Elna 8200 embroidery machine. Broken needle

Computerized machines need to be serviced by an authorized sewing machine technician, preferably Elna.

Diving into this may cause more problems and end up costing you more money for repair.

I have an brother 8200 embroidery machine and when i turn it on it says the pressure foot is in the down position and it isn't. i have to jiggle it and sometimes that works but today it took a long time...

If you take the face plate off (left side cover) there is usually a small sensor "lever" that is activated when you raise or lower the presser foot. This could be bad or broken. Many models had plastic then they switched to a metal lever. I think this could be it.
