How to reset the radio - JBL MR-17 Sirius-Ready AM/FM/CD Receiver Controller

To reset the Uniden GMR1938-2 radio and turn off monitor mode, you can follow these steps:
1. Turn off the radio by pressing and holding the Power/Menu button until the unit powers down.
2. Once the radio is turned off, press and hold the Menu button.
3. While holding the Menu button, turn on the radio by pressing the Power/Menu button. Keep holding the Menu button until the display shows the Reset prompt.
4. Use the Channel Up or Channel Down button to navigate to the Reset option.
5. Press the Menu button to select the Reset option.
6. The display will show a confirmation message asking if you want to reset the radio. Use the Channel Up or Channel Down button to select "Yes" and press the Menu button to confirm.
7. The radio will reset to its factory default settings, including turning off the monitor mode.
After performing the reset, the monitor mode should be turned off on your Uniden GMR1938-2 radio. You can now use the radio normally without the monitor function active.

The resetting code for your car radio should be with the owner's manual and other documentation that came with your car. The instructions for resetting the radio will be in the owner's manual.

If you don't happen to have that, then, you will need to contact an automobile dealership which sells your make of car.

When you find the code or obtain one from a dealership, I suggest you do what I have done: write the code inside your owner's manual on the page with the instructions for resetting the radio, so you will be able to reset the radio again, whenever needed. Note: When the car battery is replaced will be another time you will have to reset the radio.

If there is no reset switch on either the face or the sub panel, you can reset the radio by disconnecting the battery for a few seconds. If you can remove the radio from the dash you could also just unplug the wire harness for the radio for a few seconds. Either way should reset the radio.

Factory reset
If the radio's display locks up or stops functioning properly, you might need to reset your UHF radio. Caution: this procedure clears all the information you have stored in your UHF radio.
Before you reset your UHF radio, try turning it off and on again. If your UHF radio is still not functioning correctly you may need to reset the UHF radio! While holding the F/DPX button, turn the UHF radio on. INITI AL will be displayed for 1 to 2 seconds, the radio will then return to its original display.

do you have the radio code ? if not contact a chrysler dealer as they can supply the code and the instruction to reset the radio which should be in the radio manual as well

I don't know if this would be called resetting, but if you want to start over while programming, press the "Menu" button repeatedly until it "backs out" of programming mode. If no keys are pressed for one minute, the radio will exit the menu. There really is no way of resetting the weather radio, even if you unplug it and take out the batteries.

I have a 2001 focus ..radio suddenly stopped playing after being at garage.  I thought that the battery was disconnected and the radio neede reset code, as it has a rad blinking dash anti-theft light.  i went to ford garage and they told me they don't have reset codes on the focus.  Is this true?

I had a what sounds like the same problem. More than likely you need to "reset"(our account with XM Radio. (Your radio have stop communication with xm except for channel 1) You can call XM or go to XM'S website. If you have not setup your account for internet usage you will have to do so before you can manage (reset) your radio. Once you reset your radio it may take up to 1 hour before it works. My radio took about 15 min. Good luck
