In a Home the recommended level (front higher to back lower) is 1/4" (Right to Left - level)
Never less than in order to allow door to shut own their own, but there is nothing wrong with having a perfect level refrig if everyone closes the doors properly which they won't. A refrigerator requires to be reasonable leveled to avoid compressor fatigue. In a Motorhome people can't always find level ground, so it quite frequent that their refrigerator burns up when running. From that experience I'd say I would level any fridge which is over 1/2 inch off.
You should never try to level the refrigerator completely as the doors may no shut on the own properly. I have added a link below that can help you address the problem and some other situations that occur with refrigerators, Go to line 7. Hope these help, Thanks, Sea Breeze

I purposely adjust the front of the fridge slightly higher (not level) so door closes completely when lightly pushed.
If it doesn't stay open when at a right angle, then the hinge side is too high relative to handle side. If it SLAMS shut, then adjust front left/right lower.

you might lower the front ones to get it level thats the only sloution i can come up with

Seabreeze, Thank you for your help. George
the front of the fridge (maytag also...) is WAY higher than the back of the fridge. Basically exactly what the previous poster wrote is my situation. The instructions for leveling the fridge seem to be incomplete or incorrect, because when I try to adjust the hex bolts, thinking I'm raising or lowering the front wheels, all it does is loosen or tighten the bolt. I turned the bolt SEVERAL times. I didn't want it to break off the wheel entirely or something so I stopped. Wish I could find help. I can see if the fridge is a little out of level, that's ok, but the front is almost an inch higher than the back. That's a LOT out of level.
tHE FRONT IS SUPPOSED TO BE HIGHER. tHAT WAY THE DOOR CLOSES AUTOMATICLY
