My GE washing machine is 3 years old. It is a top load. Approximately 1 week ago, the agitator and spin cycles failed to work despite everything I tried short of taking it apart as I was going to be late for work. The next day home, I plugged the washer back in as I left it unplugged and it worked! Then there is today... My wife calls while I am at work and informs me that the washer has flooded our wash room and our kitchen. She said there was no water coming from the hoses and/or drain at the wall and there was no water pouring over the top as you would see in an overfill. She said it was "actively pouring from the bottom." I have never taken apart a washing machine, I have no idea what to look for and GE is absolutely no help as they just want me to spend my extra money I DO NOT HAVE, for a repair tech to come out (I do know they are probably covering their rear ends by not advising possible problems but it is extremely frustrating!) So, could this be a faulty timing device/dial? Hoses? Seals???? If you have any of the same experiences or know what I am talking about, please enlighten me on any details! Any help is much appreciated! Thank you! (Also, there is no room to pull the washer out, tear it down and still run it to check it for leaks. I will have to pull it out to the garage to inspect... Is it possible that the garden hose will connect to it to diagnose? Ignorant question, I know! Thanks again.
GE top load washers has a pusher dome that control the air that tell the water level switch when to stop, this and air hose is known to Gump up check that, and the switch it self can fail and cause flooding.

Chill out Mr. Sir. This is where you get to be a hero today.
Fortunately for you, washermachines and dryers are rather... big dumb equipment for the most part.
I highly advise you take apart the unit. They are big, but they are also simple. They are designed very well to be taken apart with minimal tools and experience. The panels usually unlatch after 2 - 8 screws. The wiring is simplistic and easy to follow with the eyes.
Something like a water leak should be very easy to find. You'll most likely find a cracked plastic fitting or something else that is crude and simple in form. I'm willing to bet that a simple treatment with epoxy glue or 30 minute cure super glue could fix it just fine. And even better if you find something that only needed a fixture to be re-situated and re-tightened.
Washer machines can vibrate allot so most likely you have something cracked or fallen loose. If you've ever had a washer or dryer repairman come over to fix something, they are usually done within 30 minutes. An average Joe like you could most likely get the job done in 3 hours or less.
Good luck!

I've dealt with this same issue with mine a couple of times now... not sure why, yet, but the "dispenser to tub" hose keeps cracking. i'm getting ready to purchase a third one. it's a corrugated rubber hose that attaches at the bottom of the soap/softener/bleach dispenser and the other end fits into the outside of the drum. (it carries the soap, etc. to the drum) You'll have to remove the top, front instrument panel, and remove screws (not hoses) of dispenser to be able to manipulate it around to get to the hose at the bottom. it should have 1 clamp to attach to the dispenser and the other end is pushed to fit into the drum (no clamp). you'll need pliers, the correct size "star" bit and socket.. be proactive, inspect all your inner hoses while your in there. if it's that specific hose, the part number is 8540063 whirlpool duet washer hose (dispenser to tub). you can usually find them on Ebay for $20 or less. Best of luck!

SOURCE: Leak from maytag top load coin machine during spin drain cycle only
Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim
SOURCE: Another flood. GE washer
The water sound is normal. There is a solution in the top of inner tub for balance. Is it overflowing...as in not stopping the fill cycle? If so check to make sure small hose is still attached to outer tu at bottom left front. This dome that it connects to can become filled with scum and causes the unit to not know that it's full. This causes flooding. You can try removing hose and cleaning out with thin wire. Sometime only fix is to replace outer tub. Again, this is only if overflowing!!
Another possibility is a bad break allowing outer tub to spin in agitation. This throws water up over sides of tub. Monitor unit when agitating to see if outer tub picks up speed and starts to spin. It is normal for it to index.

what I have found is that the washer thinks it is not pumping out .. if your drain pump is clearly removing the all the water in a good time... then the problem is your pressure switch...it is telling the computer that it still has water in the machine...
replace the pressure switch and it will solve your f21 error.
It is a round unit on the right hand side on top...with a tube and wires going to it...let me know if it helps
SOURCE: Washer leaking water from bottom
MIne did and it was the bleach container on the top that was getting clogged and leaking over, we actually drilled the hole a bit bigger and cleaned it all out and it stopped. I've had to take the whole top of the washer off to do this about 2-3 times now.
SOURCE: GE washing machine water overflowing
sound like the same washing machine from hell that we have. three or four times it has overflowed from want we have been told the hose that runs from the drum to on/off pressure switch cloggeds with soap. we have tried different soap, hot water, cold, water you name it we've tried it. so now evey time we use it we have to clean it with a coat hanger by taking the front off the machine.
P.S. take the hose off top and bottom to clean it, all it takes two/three very small soap bubbles to clogged it
