What port? Be more specific. But for now, make sure you have the port identified that you need working, go into your router if applicable and use the port forwarding option and assign it to the Playstation 3's local IP address. If you do not know your router's admin login details, ask who owns it and get the information from them. If they do not know, then you can look underneath the router and most of them list a default user and password incase you have not set one up yourself.
If that is not available, try an internet search for the defaut password for your router. And if you still cannot login, do a hard reset on the router. There is usually a tiny button you can press in with a pen or paperclip and hold it down for 10 - 15 seconds. Usually you will see all the lights flash at the same time, or they will strobe. You can then use the default user/password and login through your web browser as normal. Please reference the default ip of your router to get to it correctly. You will have to setup your wifi passwords again.
Doing the hard reset technique also will fully reset things just incase something froze. With many routers, you may experience a glitch or a partial crash. Usually the wireless stops working or the port settings no longer function and will need a reset.
Oh, you mean a physical port. Ok so have you tried to check if you have a wire or connector short?
Try swapping the mic/headset from one controller to the other. If that works, then it's the headset wires somewhere. If that doesnt work, then the controller could be broken. Usually it will be something physically cracked so if you conclude that the controller is broken and not the headset, then you could try your hand in taking apart the controller and making sure the plugin port is not cracked or missaligned. Superglue should work fine if you find anything that is cracked. If the port is cracked, the prong may not touch the electrical contacts properly so you'll have to see what you can do about that. Keep a pan or small bin nearby so you can place the screws from the controller in.
Woops, I have a small edit to make from the beginning of the last comment. If you swap the headset to the other controller and it works, then the port is probably damaged.
