SOURCE: Can't wake up....gone into sleep mode...how do you wake it up

press and hold the power button down for about 5 secs. The computer will shut down. Restart it and right click on the desktop, go to properties then look for screensaver tab , then choose power options, click on hibernation tab at the top and uncheck enable hibernation. Or choose stanby options and choose a longer time before the computer goes to sleep.

SOURCE: HP Pavillion dv6000 once in sleep mode, won't wake up/crashes

Yeah I can understand. I must assist by telling you that you can configure these settings by using POWER SETTINGS application which you can find in your CONTROL panel.

Your all confusions and doubts will be clarified by that application and then you will have to reboot system manually. You can choose configuration for your best personal use.

If this solution was helpful to you then please rate 100% (or FIXYA) for this solution, otherwise don't rate at all. It was my pleasure helping you.

SOURCE: Acer aspire one, won't wake up from sleep mode, screen blank

I'm having the same problem, but I don't want to have to turn off my computer EVERY time it does this. (I have not been able to shut down the laptop normally because it goes into sleep every time.) I've heard that after 3 hours it builds up an eletrical charge and you have to take the battery out, but I havn't had it on for 3 hours at a time.

I have a tajima TFMX-II C1506 and it wont turn on

Hi,

Please switch to another mode - maybe power save mode before the machine has a chance to reach the point where it goes into sleep mode. Forcing the machine into another mode, should mean that it can't go into sleep mode.

Thank you.

My Toshiba Satellite S75D-A7272 laptop has always had a problem with getting it out of sleep mode. Is there a fix for this?

Sleep or standby mode should allow your computer to conserve energy yet respond quickly to power back on when you need it. Most Toshiba laptops should exit sleep mode if you press a key on the keyboard or use the trackpad mouse. If the lid was closed, opening it should also wake up the computer. If none of these methods work to bring the computer out of sleep mode, you may have a power issue or software glitch. Causes Insufficient power can cause this problem, so try plugging in your Toshiba laptop before attempting to wake it from sleep mode. If this does not immediately fix the issue, your problem is more likely a software issue. If your laptop was shut down incorrectly prior to the sleep mode incident, it may be stuck on a blank screen that makes it appear to be in sleep mode when it actually is trying to start up.
Indications Press the power button for a few seconds to see if your computer will wake up. If it does, the laptop was not truly stuck in sleep mode, but rather went into hibernation mode. If your laptop is truly stuck in sleep mode, you may be able to force a shutdown by holding down the power button, but when you power back up it will move right back into sleep mode. In some cases, the power button may not shut down the computer from this mode at all.
Solution The best way to solve your Toshiba's problem is to completely remove all power from the laptop to ensure a fresh restart. Close the laptop's lid, turn over the unit and remove the battery. Also remove the power adapter cord from both the laptop and the wall socket. Open the laptop lid and press and hold the power button for approximately 20 seconds. This will drain any stored power in the backup battery. Wait a few seconds, then put the battery back in, plug in the laptop and press the power button to turn on the computer. It may start up with an error screen; in this case, select the option to start your computer normally. If the error recurs, start the computer in "Safe Mode" to see if a program running on your computer outside of the basic Windows operating system is causing the problem.
Further Help Sometimes this issue also requires holding down a specific key, such as "F8," when you restart. If the basic power drain and restart process doesn't work, you can use Toshiba's support website to look up further information for your specific model. Just click the "Product support" tab and enter your laptop's model information, then read through the support bulletins listed for your particular Toshiba model. Toshiba also maintains a support hotline at Call us : +1 850-610-1013 https://www.instantprintersupport.com/toshiba-printer-support

Can't get my iPad to turn on! Have tried pressing the button for a long time, still not turning. What else should I do to get started?

In order (stop if one works):
1. Recharge at least an hour from power adaptor rather than USB computer lead.
2. Reset by holding down Sleep/Wake button on top right of tablet while at the same time pressing down home button. Keep both depressed 15 seconds. If slider appears or screen dims, keep pressing till Apple appears.
3. Restart (display not working) by pressing and holding Sleep/Wake button till power off slider appears. Drag slider to right. Wait 2 minutes. Press and hold Sleep/wake button till Apple appears.
4. Recovery Mode. With device powered down, hold sleep/wake button down and drag slider to off position. Then plug USB into a computer (do not have usb cable connected to iPad yet) running latest version of iTunes. Hold down Home button while plugging USB cable into iPad. Keep Home button down until Connect to iTunes appears. If does not appear, start Recovery Mode procedure again. When Lightning cable, arrow, and iTunes appears, release Home. Click OK to restore to factory defaults (erases data). Restore data from earlier backup. (Summary of method from Phone Cruncher site.)

My kobo is in sleep mode and won't wake up

Turn it off by pressing and holding the power button for 5-8 seconds. Restart it.
When it's up. Update the video driver. You can find the driver in the manufacturer's website. However, if you want to cover all possible driver-related issues like what you are currently experiencing then use RadarSync.

I hope this helps!

Toshiba satellite laptop won't wake up from hibernation even after holding power botton down?!

If pressing down and holding the restart/start button doesn't wake it up you might try Control + ALT + DELETE keys (together) - that will reboot it though. And if that won't work then you might have to pull the battery to reset it.

It seems that some laptops have a problem with vista and sleep mode, in particular, and sometimes hibernate too. You can try going under POWER OPTIONS under Control Panel and setting everything back to default, saving it, then resetting it again. Also it's best to avoid using sleep mode if possible to avoid problems.

If the problem developed after a recent install or updating you may need to go to an older store point to fix the problem. Personally, I just avoid using these settings as much as possible and use regular shut down and a screen saver for times when I need to step away from laptop for short periods of time.

I unplugged my computer and turned off the monitor to save power since we were not using. Now with the computer plugged in, when I turn monitor on the green light just blinks.

Make sure the data plug is in correctly. Turn the computer on. No you can try using the power button on the monitor to power it off and on. Or you may need to pull the power for the monitor out of the plug and then put it back in.

The blinking light means the monitor is in sleep mode. They need activity on the data or signal cable before they wake up. Unfortunately sometimes they get stuck and you have to reboot them to wake them up. I have seen a few where they had failed and would not come out of sleep mode but that is pretty rare. Usually you just have to sweet talk it and threaten it a bit and pull it plug a few times and all of a sudden it will start up,

Hit the keyboard keys. It is better to just turn sleep and hibernate off and just use a screen saver or tun it off.
